Nope. Most often, If a person has a same name as his father, it's because his father died when he wasn't born yet.

hmm.. but I'm a bit confused.. if a person is called Abu Abdulla, that's because his first son is called Abdulla.. the father could have any first name, but still be called Abu Abdulla.. unless it's different with Saudi's?

That's true. However, at least where I come from it's tradition to name your first son after your father's name. So I'd end up being Abu Abdullah. I like that name anyway and I hope to name my first son that name not just because of tradition.
