Greek Midfielder Enters Juve’s Orbit
4/7/2005 4:24:00 PM
The AEK player, Kostas Katsouranis, has been linked with a move to the Bianconeri.
The Champions League match at Anfield highlighted Juventus’ lack of depth in the midfield department, where even the usually consistent Emerson looked extremely tired and out of form.

The Old Lady’s scouts have already individuated the right player to bolster the centre half for next season: the current European Champion Katsouranis who made an excellent impression during last year’s Euro 2004.

The 25-year-old midfielder was close to a move to Porto, Sampdoria and Benfica but all deals fell through. His current contract with AEK expires next year, therefore the Greek side will try to sell him this summer so to avoid losing him on a free transfer in 2006.

I don't know much about this player, I have only seen him in the Euros where he played solid football, but I don't know how he is playing right now at club level?

Honestly I'd pick bot Essien (ofcourse) and Ledesma over him.

right now, id welcome just about anyone. our lack of depth in midfield is a joke. in fact, only emerson is worth mentioning these days. tacchinardi, blasi and appiah should all be sold.

he is a good player, would be interesting to see how well he could do in serie A.

I wouldn't like him he didn't show his qualities. He played good on Euro04 as everyone from greeks squad. I don't think that is enough to play for Juve

he plays for AEK at the moment and he is really great.
he is the captain of the team and one of the most valuable player of the team.

and he is great both in defence and middle, but he is also one of the top scorers of the team i think

i ve read somewhere moggi himself will go to wach him,
in the derby game AEK-PAOK,
i m not sure either if he is juve material, the sure thing is he is very reliable and solid all the time,
he would be a very good alternative choice,
he want to live AEK, to make the great step in his carrier
and i believe he will not complain in juve's bench,
since AEK has great financial problems(it was about to be relegated in GREEK seria C this summer)
and his contract expires next year, i believe moggi can come in and close a 3,5mil deal,
AEK want smth close to5mil but if the player is wanted by a big team, they wont stop his way

well even if we are interested in sum player it doesnt mean we wanna sign him for the team ....the article stated he was supposed 2 leave for porto, samp and benfica ...this might be another moggi tactics to include him in a deal with benfica to get miguel which i think is among the main target ......the last summer we are also contacted with miguel its just that a fee wasnt agreed.
