I don't trust any sources, I just go with logic and what I think could really happen. Some sources where spot on last year with Tiago, Almirion and others wrong when they said Milito was 100% even if he really passed a medical here.

I think that if Trez leaves(only for a great sum) then Huntelaar is the #1 target(Gomez #2, Gomis #3). It's odd that no other club bought him already so that leaves be to believe we may have had an option on him. Thanks "Bobby goal".
Even if Huntelaar is our number one target i very much doubt we will get him.. Ajax are smart and they will surely sniff around for buyers and inevitably find someone willing to bid bigger than us (probably madrid)

i dont see why so many people adore Huntelaar? sure he has a great record, but that is only in the weak Dutch League. I will wait and reserve my judgement for him after the Euro's.

if he somehow manages to score a hattrick against Italy in group stage or just a knockout goal that will eliminate Italy from euro2008.. he will be Juve's player !!

IF Trez leaves it would be hard for me to chose his replacement between those three players though.

They are all great and I'm starting to like Gomis more and more.He is amazing.

Calderón Plays Down Huntelaar Link

While Real Madrid are gearing up to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United, their chairman has hinted that Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is not among their primary transfer targets.

The Ajax star has been linked with several high-profile clubs, including the English duo of Manchester United and Chelsea. But Ramón Calderón, speaking in Brussels, where he attended a formal dinner set up by the association of Real Madrid fans within the European Union, insisted he’s in the dark.

“Neither [sporting director] Peđa Mijatović nor [technical secretary] Miguel Ángel Portugal have said nothing to me. What’s more, our squad is young and it has changed practically in its whole over the past two years. That’s why we’re poised to make very few changes.” Calderón said.

Huntelaar, these days in Switzerland with the rest of the Netherlands national side for the European Championship final phase, was widely regarded by Spanish media as one of the Primera Division champions’ main transfer priorities this summer.

And indeed Diario AS insists that Real’s primary target is still the signing of a top-class finisher, with Huntelaar and Valencia’s David Villa on top of their wish list.

Huntelaar is not a starter for a EURO 2008.

So the only way he's getting on the pitch from the start is either Van Nistelrooy failing to deliver or Van Nistelrooy catching up an injury. The first scenario has happened before during WC2006 which led to Van Nistelrooy to retire under Van Basten but he eventually came back on that decision. The second one is more realistic.

A fact is that Van Nistelrooy is not getting any younger, and he probably will be substituted around the 65th minute mark which leaves Huntelaar to leave his impression in 20/25 minutes. As Huntelaar isn't quite a pinch hitter or subersub, i don't take this will be his tournament.

But i do think Huntelaar is the next Van Nistelrooy of this generation.

His goal/game ratio (not only in the Dutch competition), but also in UEFA Cup / International matches, are very impressive. Also winning the Bronze Boot in the 07/08 (3rd prize after the Golden Boot, for scoring the most goals in Europe) underlines his good records.

I am absolutely certain he will cut it in one of the big leagues, with England and Spain probably suiting him the most, and unfortunetaly for Juve fans, Italy suits him the less, he needs space to make things happen. In the Spanish and English competition there will be enough space. Although Huntelaar can also play counter-football.
