Klaas Jan Huntelaar has been linked with switches to Italy of late, and the Ajax striker has revealed that Edgar Davids' glowing recommendation of Juventus has left him intrigued.
The Dutch international told the Corriere dello Sport, "Even in Holland, [Juve] are known as the 'Old Lady', and thanks to all the trophies that they've own, they are a very attractive club. Edgar Davids has told me about this.
"What did he say? Very positive things about both Juventus and Italian football in general. It's a fun and exciting style there."
Davids cut his footballing teeth in the famous Ajax side of the mid-1990s before moving first to AC Milan and then Juve, and while Huntelaar seems interested in the prospect of following in the midfielder's footsteps, he's not yet had the chance.
When asked about potential interest from not just Juve and Fiorentina but also Inter and AC Milan, the 24-year-old replied, "I like Italy, and it's flattering to be rated by such clubs, but I've not yet had any contact.
"I've heard nothing from Juve, but they're a club with great tradition that anyone would love to play for.
"Am I the new [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic? No. Ibra is Ibra, and I am myself. Every player is different and comparisons aren't easy."
