He won a few balls, imposed himself physically for most parts and combined well at times… but on the other hand he did have moments of being complete garbage which largely outweighed the good ones he had.

Maybe it has something to do with Tudor telling him to drop deep, but he (and Loca/Koop) provides no protection in front of defense. We are letting opponents shoot too much near the penalty arc. The first and second goal as well as Çalhanoğlu's brace all come from that area. And there were many other attempts.

We need to figure this out.

But you make a very good point. Kovac was smart, he told the front 3 to stay close in front of our defence. They combined well and almost destroyed us.
