Thiago Motta thinks of a more physical midfield against Inter: is it Thuram's time?

If we consider the essential position and, of course, the captain's armband, tightly tightened on Manuel Locatelli's arm, it could therefore be Douglas Luiz's turn to return to sit - at least initially - on the bench after the convincing Champions League performance against PSV.

Would be so stupid to drop Luiz now.

Thuram should play but instead of someone else
Edit: never mind, he's out with fatigue anyway.

I don't think he had the best game in terms of he tried to much at times and lost the ball in areas he shouldn't.

But there was something about that performance which showed a step up from him and what he could bring to the side. It really wasn't far away from being a top performance if he could fix the minor mistakes (which are usually ones he doesn't make).

He was careless in defence at times and that's because imo, he isn't a DM, rather a box to box.

His runs through midfield are actually relatively unique. Good speed, solid control, just needs to make better passes at times. That's a pretty big weapon if he can improve. Would love to see him get some more technique and forethought around the box.

Agree, it almost makes me nervous that he'll lose possession and open us up to a counter but he just cuts right through. Haven't seen that at Juve for years.

Needs to be starting - he has attributes we need to nurture as you say.

Still a bit raw but even so he is proving to be an absolute bulldozer for us in midfield, if he can also further refine his game we’ll have one of the best and most complete box to box CM’s in the world starting for us.

His darting and galloping runs through the middle where he just glides past players with ease remind me a lot of Pogba.

He’s developing into a fine midfielder. Needs to be a bit more careful and less casual with some of his passing though.
