I say 3 because even if Keita is a deadly scorer as SS (he ain't CF), he is really a natural winger first and foremost still.

What insane disrespect? Judging by the responses and - reps most people here agree with you. For the record, I never liked Higuain, not when he was a Real player or Napoli player. I didn't change my opinion based on the fact that we paid 90m for him, unlike other people who were mocking him and saying Tevez is miles better and now lick his fat balls. I always thought Higuain shouldn't even be a starter for Argentina. Milito was better in 2010, Tevez was better in 2014 and Icardi is better now.

Totally disagree. He played his entire youth career as a CF, and scored for fun. Played as a CF the first couple of years for Lazio, looked like an insane talent. Lazio then turned him into a winger, and he kind of feel of the radar. The last 6 months they gave him the chance as a SS and he started delivering again.

He is definetly more suited to play as a SS or even a CF, than as a winger.

90M for a striker who can't deliver on the big stage and is entering the end of his prime AND basically has no resell value doesn't seem like good business.

Of course he's only been one season with us so he still has time to perform in the CL but nothing really indicates he will.

Mandzukic became terrible as CF for us. Why should we have weakened our attack with Mandzu as our spearhead for sake of signing CMs or AM we should sign regardless of getting Higuain anyways? And who are the available top AMs or CMs we should signed last summer? Besides the Pjanic we got, which shockingly, like a top team, we were able to do while signing Higuain too, instead of neglecting our attack.


If simpleton like you say someone who scored 32 goals should never been signed, whatta heck would you say of Mandzu who barely gets to double digits each season? We signed him easier from Atletico because he lost his scoring touch with them. As he did for Croatia. There is a reason this new top utility role of being tactical team player out wide was created for him. Because he is not fit to lead an attack line anymore at all (why we wanted to keep Morata and signed Higuain, because he was deemed not enough for good reason). He was everywhere but be in box and even miss chances, let alone score. There were times Chiellini was deadlier scorer then him.

I am sick and tired of trying to punch it into everybody's brain that Dybala is a forward and if you have a forward and look for a CAM (summer 16 mercato) the smarter thing to do is to buy a CAM and not another striker while forcing the first one out of position

This isn't even about Higuain, but the overall purchase of a striker with other positions uncovered and weak.

Attitude wise, I prefer Schick more. I believe he has bigger upside for improvement. But his previous failure medical check up is a question mark. Is it something serious or cureable?

For now, Keita is more complete as a player, but I'm afraid if he become impatient when he sit on the bench

No, but someone who actually seen him for Lazio. Ofcourse he has been more effective as SS attacker and has had his breakout in that in last 2 months of the season. But everything before that doesnt go out the window. That link shows 7 games in attack and 24 games between wide role or attacking mid/side midfielder. Get it? What his more familiar with his career so far has been a winger, just because he has become deadly enough in attacking phase doesnt suddenly change all that.


Lazio changed to 3-5-2 formation in spring (compared to 4-5-1 or 4-3-3) and since he has no overall work ethic or creative playing style like Felipe Anderson, he played in 2 man attack and did very well. Emphasis on SS here, because when I say CF, I refer SOLELY to someone who can play sole center forward on his own. Keita doesnt do that, atleast not as effectively, he was a support forward with insane counter attacking ability playing off Immobile. He had the freedom to drift everywhere he wanted, and he often did so by going wide and cutting in, since it gave him more 1-1 duels, that is when he wasnt playing on counters, then it didnt matter because if he had momentum, they stood no chance most of the time. Case in point is the Rome derby, he was everywhere in attack, everywhere. And he has honed his finishing skills enough to just pounce on moves. His evolution reminds me a bit of a young Aubameyang in St Etienne.
