At first glance, I thought he was going to insult Juventus, but he does have a point - many footballers nowadays choose sides for extraneous reasons. I never liked Roy Keane because he was the captain of MANURE, however I do respect the player as he is a true legend. At least he's not a bitch of a player like the Ronaldos or Beckham.

FFS, Keane is talking shit. Of course players are going to listen to their families, when they move clubs it's a big change for everyone, his kids have to find a new school, new friends, they may not know the language, his wife is also leaving a lot behind... of course he's going to take all this into account.

Also, whats wrong with wanting to play in a nice place? Nobody wants to live in a shithole, and footballers are no exception. As in a regular job, if you get offered a lot more money you'll agree to go work in the middle of nowhere, but if you dont, you'll think twice about going there.

I agree that players will talk to their wives about a move, but they shouldn't dictate where a player should go. If playing in a nice place was so important, don't forget, we wouldn't ever get any good players.
Players should pick a team for footballng reasons, not because of the architeceure or shopping a particular town has.

Okay, there are going to be a lot of "word"s here
.

Keane is awesome and 100% right about men in the modern age.
Ummmm, not only do you bash gays, but women too. Get out of here you sexist racist bigot.
Keane tries too hard to come across as a hard man.
Dude, he was an amateur boxer.....you don't have to try to be hard if you were a boxer prior to being a footballer.

Its really seeing two side of the coin.

Well, I personally think Keane is a thug who probably spent most of the time in jail had he not been gifted with so much talent. He is too much of macho "I do it hard way" type of person for my liking. Montero? Well he is another story.:eyebrows: :D

But Keane does have a point. Keane reached the height as a player, because that m*****f**er had one hell of drive to suceed which most of can only dream of. As a pro you need to have that edge, and if you choose your career based on lifestyle then well Keane is right in saying you don't want to be successful. However, that is what people just was/is/will be like, and it is Keane, not them who are exception to the rule. Its like saying, "Why all people want to be like me?" Sorry Keane, but there are many people who wants to preserve some reminisence of sanity.

Why not exactly? It's a job like any other, and the same rules apply.

And we get good players because we offer them good money.

But I guarantee you, that, if all the terms were equal, meaning wages, team status, etc, 90% of players would choose to play for Barcelona instead of Juve.

I know I would.

so if u were offered a chance to play for Juve or Barca u would go to Spain?

If you actually read my post, you'd understand that it's a situation if the player is neutral towards both clubs, meaning he doesnt support anyone.

And TBH, while my heart says Juve, my head says Barca... dont know which one would win.

I would refuse to play for any team other than Bayern, even if I had to sit the bench.
