Every expert in the world, including former CIA Middle East station chief Bob Baer, will tell you that the Afghanis will rally around the Taliban with every escalation of the war. Why? Because the Afghanis consider our presence to be unjust occupation. We are only aiding the Taliban in gaining support and sympathy, which means more of a move towards extremism, which we supposedly want to halt. Not sure if I buy it anymore.

Obama and all his advisors know this, yet they still are trying to garner support for their troop increase decision. They know it will be quite the bloody escalation with many of our troops perishing. But they don't give a rat's ass about that -- their agenda, whatever it is, is more important than dead Americans.

Similar to the situation in Iraq. Everybody agreed on hating the tyrant that is Saddam Hussein. After the US invasion, his popularity increased ten fold. After everything that he did.
