He might play worse than Tacchi, but when he's on form he's much more important than Alessio. Also, Tacchi can be replaced by Maresca, Appiah, Conte, Tudor, making his presence less important, as he could be easily replaced. With Trezeguet thats not the case.
That could be it... or... they are just plain blind

I disagree! Of all those people you mentioned that could replace Tacchi, only Appiah has shown he's up to it and Maresca has yet to prove that. Tudor is a defender and gives terrible backpasses and Conte has lost his touch.
Furthermore, if Tacchinardi can be replaced that easily then so too can Trezeguet with DiVaio and Miccoli.
And yeah, Trezeguet is good when he's on form but when was the last time that happened? Over a year ago!!

Or that you can buy any giving good def midfielder to do what tacchi does while its hard to get many world class strikers, and one who scores 24 goals in serie a.

well it isnt fair to judge trez by one season were he was injured most times is it? if he plays like that this season i wouldnt disagree with you. and talking about bad season, tacchi has had alot of them without even being injured.
first season: 25 apps(many of them being of the bench)/ 14 goals.
second season: 34 games/24 goals
third season: 17 games/ 9 goals
so far being without injured, he have proved himself good enough to give him atleast some credits.and even being in poor form and mostly injured he managed to score 9 goals in 17 serie a games, more then di vaio who played alot more games then he did.
I thought the whole point of this thread was to set up a list according to recent performances, aka this summer and last season. Hence my disagreement.
give the guy a break. he had a tough season, full with injuries. you said yourself that he is very good when he's on form, and that is why he is important. he's a terrific scorer and very acurate when he is sharp
