Alen; Nothing IMO. It was actually more fun knowing that Tahir had not assigned the roles on random. I thought he was going to give the special roles to his Desi friends but he actually picked the most strange group of gangsters which made the game very interesting.

Its 100% unfair and decided on the whims of the narrator, its NOT how the game works (NEVER been), the dynamics of the game is based on CHANCE, anyone can get any role (why did you give me a civilian role for example? Why did you give Fred BG? etc etc), the odd pairs that happens etc. I specifically said the roles are picked randomly in first game, I have no idea why this was changed or confusing for some from the beginning.

Honestly, you should have told me from the beginning, I have no interest playing when such a vital part of the game is utterly ignored. Its ridicolous.

I agree with you Hoori. Although Bisco is a friend but everyone else was just new to me. We clicked very well!!

But I played the game thinking it was random rather than hand-picked :p.

Ze, did you pick Hoori as a second jailer, or was it random?

Osman, come on, be open for new ideas! I know you're the expert and all that.

But tell me exactly how did that harm the game? I agree it would make more sense randomized but take this as a change. If no one likes it, we'll just go back to randomizing.

Exactly and I did that deliberately. It was a lot of fun watching people say "he must have picked a desi". When the thought didn't even cross my mind.

Ok then don't play next time I'm narrator, which I probably won't be.

Hoori: Thats exactly it, WHY did he pick you? You can say (if he did), he gave the advantage to the civilians, because you are an active player who would use the role to your advantage as you did, what if it was random as it should be, and the role was given to a quiet or inactive C? (like Aoron) This would likely been to the advantage of the Gs, having a civilian who doesnt have a way to clear one self, or use the jailing to a tactical way as you did. EVERYTHING in this game should be up to chance, and the very foundation of this all is that the roles are picked RANDOMLY. Doesnt work any other way.

Yes we didnt know he did it randomly, but still takes away the chances of getting a role you could have gotten (what made him decide who and why someone should get a role?), and the varied ways and combinations things could have happend. If the BG was someone clueless for example instead of Fred? (like the detective in this case was), I seen games won on mere chance of the roles distribution (a noobish detective who gunned down the BG, while that BG was protecting someone else  ), and given out the roles knowingly takes away this mere chance, no matter how "randomly" he distributes out the roles, its still done with the whims of the narrator. Narrows down the possibilities.

Simply said, shouldnt happen at all (not the task of the narrator at all). And I would 100% prefer that next time, this is said before anyone signs up, so you know the most vital rule is completely disregarded like this before you sign up.

You are kinda right Osman I guess, however I don't remember if we have ever had a better game at least since I'm taking part in. I think the rules need to be there first to lessen the chances for a group to find a winning strategy (like the jailer role being reassigned only once) and second to keep the game from being unfair. The narrator assigning the roles knowingly doesn't violate any of those purposes and it actually can make the game even more interesting.

    I second this.
I know that we agreed the roles to be picked randomly, but what's really wrong if the narrator is picking the roles?
    What does it change?
I didn't know that the roles were assigned randomly, I thought that the narrator assigns them and that's why I started by voting Bisco.

You wanted to save yourself? :D I didnt know it was you when he asked (figured either you or Sabet was lawyer), but then you confessed basically on the thread you are the lawyer (indirectly), prolly why you got whacked :D But I dont remember you being in a real danger of getting lynched, why did you want to save yourself?

And I like players like you Jack, even if you didnt was in the mix of things all the time, the kind of steadfast way to put pressure and relentlessly hunt for someone is what this games needs hehe (instead of just random votes), make another player nervous and defensive, that opens up the game for some real interesting shit hehe. There was too little of that (putting pressure on eachother).

Because early on day 2 I was topping the votes before the votes started to change. Of course I'd want to save myself.

Ahhh ok( and hehe wouldd be too big of an advantage), yeah I think I remember Bisco voting for you, and you being one of Sabets 2000303440 votes :D Too much random voting in this game (first 2 days) without actually putting pressure on those voted (because it was changed to someone else randomly without saying why or making them squirm).
