Not really, I've found Costa more annoying. Cuadrado hasn't always got a cross in or made the right decision, but he is a constant menace on the flank and he has initiated so many of our attacks (and got an assist). Costa has looked confused and indecisive and I don't think he works well with Sandro on the same flank.

Douglas Costa is net negative this half. Not doing enough at all to earn his spot. He is mismatch left where he can't be too wide due to Sandro overlaps, nor is comfortable enough going Central from left.

Matuidi's energy in the middle coupled Pjanic's playmaking is a good match, so much better than Sami.

Also Mandy and Dybala linking up far better than Higuain ever has. Nice to see Cuads hitting a bit of consistent good form =)

Costa has been invisible, not fit for left wing in our set up so far.


Mandzukic has been awesome target man and intensely possessed pressuring machine, frees up the rest of the offensive players. He lays off balls well, but as expected he doesn't have a single attempt at goal so far.

It looks like him and Alex Sandro are working it out so that Alex Sandro is drifting more inside and Costa is hugging the line. I don't know if that's smart or dumb.
