:sergio: we have no authority in the mid field, keep bottle necking the ball foward through the sides of the pitch. Not enjoying the build up of play, it looks erratic, loose, and nasty.

VAR working brilliantly again.

Mandzukic has been poor, he doesn't even seem to be working hard in recent games.

Asamoah surprisingly good.

We need Pjanic to get more involved (although he has been slack today). Bernadeschi has been mixed. I think if we are more adventurous we can score, but we have been very cagey. We might need Dybala to open them up.

1.) Higuain offside goal
2.) Mario push in box
3.) handball in box

All VAR worthy. Still, even with that we should still be up by 2.

We need to play more centrally, enough of this pass to the wing, pass back bullshit.
I'd even consider bringing on a extra midfielder for Juan and playing a 4 3 3

It wasn't a penalty anyway but I don't understand VAR at all. It's seemingly based on the whim of individuals (the ref). I think we've had one pro-VAR call the whole season so far, that Dybala penalty earlier in the season. Not even a sniff at looking at another decision. But negative VAR decisions you can stack them up; penalties, goals chalked off, rightly or wrongly we've lost a fair few points based on those calls.

Anyway we generally look pretty comfortable even without a goal, which is pretty surprising for this fixture. We've almost crept into that mode where we look like we are just doing enough and have other gears to go into if we choose to put the tempo into it. You could see that in little periods where we pressed hard and countered quickly, then we go back into the slow passing routine. With Barcelona on the horizon I don't think anyone is really surprised, but this is a very important game too if you look at our fixture list.

We could try him on Mandzu's slot, to see how's doing there

We had a decent first half.Asamoah looks like he is playing before the injury. We must score.Bernadeschi is a waste .Make one pass and that's it.So predictable. But that Cuadrado chance.Fuck! He must score.Samdoria is nothing. We must score again....

Everything is surprising for Tuzzers.

:agree:
Bernardeschi knows how to run into spaces (unlike Dybala who likes to get the ball himself from the middle of the pitch) and his decision making is generally better.
Just mot to be so predictable. When he receives the ball everyone knows what he will do,usually wrong....

I'd take Mandzu off for D. Costa, maybe Khedira for Marchisio/Matuidi as well. Also, this is one of those games where their defenders are allowed to run straight through our players before they receive the ball. Strinic has been guilty of that almost every time we attack down the right, yet barely a whistle.
