@JuveJay

You think Inter will be able to keep pressing like they did in that first half? Or will they tire?
I don't think any team can play like that for 90 mins, we see it all the time. But this is supposed to be the part of the season where players have peak fitness.

Teams come here and press us, obviously Inter have more quality than usual, plus our open approach causes problems for us at the back.

Marchisio would help balance the midfield up a little but he's obviously being given time out for a reason.

What a fantastic goal from Juan in what is a very entertaining and competitive game of football. Two teams slugging it out and going for broke. But you just know that we have that extra bit of quality that can and will hurt every team in this league. Now let's put another two or more goals against these cunts and destroy their little unbeaten streak.

But it's not only the defence otherwise Inter would not have come close, it is not only on those two. Our attack is brilliant and I saw the chances we missed but that's about it, our attack is brilliant, the rest have not been up to par.
Pjanic, Sandro, and Licht have been poor too. All passing below 80% completion.

I'm happy Pjanic isn't ghosting today, and is attempting Long balls over the top and through balls, but his accuracy has been piss-poor today, even when not pressured. Needs to get that shit sorted out.

Khedira has played well, but he's supposed to be a holding mid, and he's not helping out enough defensively... He's playing too far up the pitch and leaving to much space in behind for Inter to exploit. It's also limiting Pjanic's ability to go forward and create (the one time he did, we saw the Dybala crossbar off a Pjanic layoff).

Why do so many countries call us Juventus Turin?

Of course we're gonna get exposed.

We expect our fullbacks to move up, while at the same time our midfield offers zero protection. Doesn't really matter who you field as CB's, it's bound to be impossible to remain in control at all times.
Well yeah there is that. I also don't like Lichtsteiner and Bonucci alongside each other.

Khedira is also too slow and heavy on the ball and I mentioned it during play, Mandzukic's role in this formation is not giving us any output because Inter are playing calm and building up slowly, his hustle does not bother them one bit.

The thing with us is that when a team presses us we go into our shells rather than cutting them to pieces with incisive passes.

We lack confidence, and more tellingly, the technical ability to punish teams for over pressing.

You could argue the best CBs we have for a back four are all not playing.

But any back four without proper protection will struggle nowadays.

:agree:

If Bonucci and CHiellini want to fuck around at the back, let them sit on the bench for a match or two. Rugani-Benatia would start at any other club in Serie A.
Chiellini has annoyed the fuck out of me this season. Visibly getting worse with every game. Shit passes, slow, sloppy marking. Bonucci hasn't been much better either, since returning from his injury.
