when given the opportunity to play an incisive forward pass, our mids 95% of the time decide to slow it down and pass backwards... idk if its allegri's tactics or what but it has the effect of terribly isolating higuain

I get Higuain is a #9 and needs to bang goals or else he has no purpose in life but does he really have to be on the last man for the entirety of the match? He's not just a poacher. He can pass too and he should be involved in the build-up a bit more. Come short, drift wide, something, anything.

The only thing stopping me from Iaquinta-Amauri flashbacks is the fact that Mandzukic makes 10 tackles a game.
