Ref was absolutely fantastic that half. Allowed the teams to play and didn't call every little ricky-tack foul. Wish we saw refereeing like this more often.

HT, we basically did not play a good half and got away with a lot of mistakes. I would go far as to say we are lucky to go into the break with a goal advantage. Let's see if we can sort ourselves and stop giving them away these opportunities.

Glad to be winning at half time but worrying performance. We can't play another half like that and need to keep the ball better and stop taking so many risks at the back. We started to do that better at the end of the half so hopefully that continues.

Chiellini has looked like he will make a mistake and did so with an awful pass from the back. That aside he has defended well in his usual throw himself at everything fashion.

Higuain done well feeding on scraps whilst being overcrowded.

Asamoah been very composed and tidy.

Mandzukic hasn't been great though, he isn't getting stuck in like usual.

Lemina has been ok as in he has had a couple of decent moves he would make regardless of what position he would play.

But he is playing like a CM on the wing. His positioning has been poor and seems out of ideas when attacking his full-back.

One of those games where we look like we just want to practice defending the entire time... Khedira MOM so far with his great run and finish, OTOH, Lemina and especially Marchisio need to step it up.

They have midget attackers so we nullify then by defending centrally in numbers, forcing them to make cross after cross. Their game plan as all other times is Insigne needs to make something happen for them or they get stuck.

But we are kinds stuck too because non of our midfielders can transport the ball forward enough to take advantage when we transition. Khedira besides Gonzalo is best at running with the ball, which isn't good sign for our attacking midfielders in this game.


Could use Sandro or Cuadrado 2nd to alleviate pressure from defending and taking a breather.
