Really? I think he's got a pretty simple role today, but he's given the ball away quite dangerously with bad passes 3 times I've counted.
Better from his usual standards i guess. I mentioned his name because i have criticized him the most and he's looked awful in 80% of the games this season.

Too bad his dribbling is all about same motion that makes him traps himself in same spot he was before dribbling, in front of an opponent, and he is forced to pass back or cross into opponent.

He is better off making off the ball runs forward.

Asamoah in a nutshell

fight, fight, fight

actually gets the ball -> runs forward untill he really cannot continue -> 1 or 2 fake stepovers -> cuts back, passes sideways or backwards

Nice formation, very good attacking play and we look up for it for once and not like zombies going thru the motions. Still the same worrying poor passing from the back. Better teams will punish us for some of that sloppiness.

I think Cuadrado has done well, he put in an excellent cross for Higuain's goal and the way he has kept possession/won a free-kick when being passed the ball when a defender is right on him has been superb.

Khedira has been mixed, a few bad passes but also positioned himself well to mop up some Lazio attacks.

with Alves/Cuadrado and Sandro/Mandzukic, it would get much more solid, but indeed. A cm of Marchisio-Rincon would be more realistic, and the team would turn into a 4-5-1 quite quickly

I'd miss the pjanic-Dybala linkup tho

On the other hand, Madrid did make Khedira - Xabi alonso work, when they were supporting Ronaldo(doesnt run), Ozil(runs a bit), Di Maria (runs less then quads) and Benzema (actually runs)
I only want to say it's insane to say Di Maria runs less then Cuadrado, Di Maria was a energizer bunny machine while Cuadrado stands around whenever in possession.

I mean without the ball. Di Maria is easily my favorite winger. He's off the ball movement in possession is off the charts
But i'm talking about when defending. Cuadrado's defensive workrate and distance coverage is much higher.

Offensively, Ronaldo moves alot, Ozil moves alot in channels, Di Maria moves more then half barcelona combined.

But the point is when defending, when the 2 man midfield has to work to recover, whilst the front 4 arent really doing alot
