We have no reference points when we have the ball. Our defence doesn't know who should get the ball once we regain possession. Once we get it into midfield, we play way too fast. Can we put our foot on the ball and move the team up together? Can our strikers drop off the back line and give us numbers in midfield?

We are not playing anything like last season. And what did I just watch in the last 2 minutes? Cuadrado at regista? And my god it was working since we seem to pass him the ball as often as possible. Maybe he should play there full time, at least our defence will have someone to pass to.

I honestly don't know what I'm watching anymore. We are scrambling from the opening kick-off. This is not how we used to play.
Could it be bevcause we have almost a totally new team?

Tak!

Thats on Allegri. With Heynckes, Guardiola and Simeone he was used differently and to great effect. Even if we use him as a mere target man, having someone who can give you through balls or play balls over the defense or at the very least give accurate long balls is definitely an asset. No striker can thrive without a midfield.

Thats why I don't blame dybala or Mandzukic or morata or even zaza if they play with that midfield behind them. The only player than cope in these conditions is Ibra from a few seasons ago
It's a mute point bro, I've already told you I agree. ;)
Moreover, I'd rather see Allegri use him according to his ability, as you noted. Honestly, we never used Llorente right either. We sawy him shine, brought him over and told him to stand tall and hope someone hit him in the face with the ball. And on that note, I can't understand why use traditional target players anyway. They are for lower tier teams. If we're gonna use target players use modern ones, which Mandzu is but is not used as. I really can't understand our reasoning...

The way Pirlo is playing in MLS looks like he wouldnt mind either
Well you cant blame him for not taking the MLS seriously. He has practically retired. Its a different mindset to play here.

Pirlo is not an option anymore. All this shows is two things:

1) how mistaken people were to think that Pirlo's role last season was something that just about any decent player could do to the same effect especially when it took the best marchisio form of his career to do a slightly better job.

2) How marotta messed up, prioritizing a third poacher like zaza and a bench option like sandro and ball winners like Lemina over a vice-marchisio purchase.

I've been saying it for months, Marchisio gets injured or has poor form and we get fucked. Dybala gets injured or has poor form and we get fucked. Both players' roles have no substitute in the team.

Do you blame him? Honestly look what happens when he gets the ball, he closed down by 3-4 Sass players and NO JUVE PLAYERS OFFERS A PASS OPTION. It's frankly insane they expect him to dribble out a cage all the time.
That is true, the amount of pressure they've put on him is isnane and none of our players seem to help him deal with that.
