We've been horribly wasteful for what has otherwise been a dominant possession performance. Matri nicely got his possession right and finish for the goal. But otherwise he's been very wasteful. Doesn't mean we should sell him, but he's clearly off form.

Yeah, for like 10min continuously the whole team were committing mistakes one after another. Udine also did well to close up their midfield and wings.

Matri loses the ball a lot in build up play because he simply doesn't have the ball skills to avoid simple tackles and manoeuvre around players much of the time. It's just the small touches that count, he doesn't have those small, quick, simple, but effective touches and that's what shoots him down as a modern striker.

Ok but none of that is relevant to whether or not he is a good finisher or not. Which he clearly is. Leave the fancy flicks and tricks to other players.

Think people are harsh towards Giaccherini today. He's been OK considering the position he is playing in.

Giaccherini has added to that good half. People usually scream for players that can take on players and that have ball control, he's been doing well. Was involved in a few chances (including the one Matri missed when 1v1).

There are plenty of whiners here. But then there's some play that deserves it. I think some people would rather the whiners shut up and tune off -- as if to bury our head in the sand. And there are whiners who do seem to act as if the sky is falling and ignore all the good things. The balance is inbetween.
