Given the team we fielded this match I did not expect any better result. We fielded only 5 or 6 first team players, and were playing against the CL winner. Things would be different if we have Diego, Marchisio, Motta, and hopefully a good right winger (e.g. Krasic).

Actually I saw some positive things from this match. With wingers who actually run (Pepe and Lanza), our wings looks much more dangerous and solid than last year. Had we been more lucky we would have been able to score. In addition, Melo looks much more comfortable on the 4-4-2 formation.

They didn't do anything at all. Trezeguet didn't have anything to work with and you know how it looks.

diego is so vital to this team, given the fact we have no one in the CM area that can play the ball, diego in a way compensates by collecting the ball and creating play.

if we get dzeko without a good SS, we will be screwed, dzeko wont work without at the very least diego.

Our attack was in complete isolation
if we play 442 we need players at the level of Nedved and Camo.. and we're stuck with Pepe and Lanzafame, and at best Krasic
our only hope is that Diego stays, he's the only player who can connect midfield to attack now, and he's leaving too
