candreva really needs to stop trying long shoots...
Every other player in the world would of took that shot on 9 times out of 10.

For the first time in ages I saw a Juve match without my heart in my mouth. Either we have fixed some things or Lazio are just plain awful.
Id say its a bit of both.

What exactly do you suggest he does in that situation?
Fake and come closer, he has already failed 3 shots before that, he is not good enough from there,
but i ve seen him trying a quick dribble and a fake shoot and i would like him to try smth else that might give him/us more chances than nodda.

Still the same awful 4-3-1-2 time of play by us. I still can't find that thing that should make me satisfied. Its exactly the same as under Ciro.
What other would you expect then? The guy has just arrived two days ago and he even don't have time to get used to the players. The best choice for him is to use the formation that the players are most used to. IMO the only thing that I think Zach can impose on the team today is to motivate them. That is! Any change in the starting formation at this moment would mean suicide.

So I'm making breakfast with the Internet radio broadcast from Centro Suono Sport in Rome on the stereo, and all I hear is "Candreva, Candreva, Candreva". Though I certainly missed a chunk of time early in the half, it certainly left the impression that a lot of the ball movement at the time was centered around him and Diego.

Yeah lets scare our players into not taking shots. Then scare them into not attacking. And we have Juventus under Ferrara :weee:

Candreva adds another slice of worry for Muslera so I'm happy.

ESPN HT: "Rafa Benitez denied the reports that he agreed terms with Juventus and will not discuss any move to Juventus or any other club".

Bentitez has just released a statement saying that he has not been incontact with Juventus and does not intend to in the future. Italian media make up so much bullshit its really annoying but thankfully this time bullshit is all it was :)

edit: Sevenplusone you are fast

You've got to be kidding me.
I'm thinking along the lines of Candreva being a candidate for the worst player in living memory to don the black and white.

Then I remembered Amuari.

Seriously, there is no intensity, no tempo or rhythm and no prospect of us opening the Lazio defence by using guile and artistry.

I'd do as far as to say that, in his present mood, Diego looks incapable of opening a tin of beans with a ring-pull top.

A change of formation is a good start.

Not sure we are referring to the same situation, but I think we are. Take a look at it again. The ball bounced out to him after a corner, 11 Lazio players infront of him in the penalty area, no way he could do anything else but shoot.

Anyway, he looked for the shot a couple of other times aswell. It's refreshing to me. Mixing it up keeps opponents on toes and makes us less predictable.

we have definitely fixed shit up. midfielders are moving around and making others open, passing is better than before, but we lack just a bit of creativity..we need a spark
Mentally I think our players have done well. IMO the problem is not about that they need to be more creative but about that they need to use a different formation with more width to create more open spaces and hence more clear chances. Lazio know our 4-3-1-2 well and they pack a lot of their midfielders in the middle of the park to block Diego and our rather one-dimensional attacking direction. But changing formation and playing style do take time and I guess we can only see that after a few matches.

The players are doing well though and I expect us to score if we are able to keep the pressure. Once a goal comes, others will follow more easily.
