Thats one damn right thing. He is not Fergie to win everyone with tactics from the eighties, and we dont have Drogba to play these fucking useless long balls. 442 without any real wingers sounds cool, but.. it isnt.

Straight 4-4-2 without wingers that can create on their own is WORTHLESS, yet we have been playing with this same inane formation since Capello took charge. We do not have the personnel to deploy this sort of scheme and that is why we always resort to long balls. I've been saying this for years now... it's far worse than upsetting.

What makes me wonder is that we have a very versatile side that can adapt to almost any formation and still we play the flat 4-4-2 with players out of positions, since the Capello days.

Tiago disappeared in this game and it is not his fault, he needs to distribute to the wings and to play smart passes to a play maker or to a target man but all these are absent.

Tiago needs to pickup the ball more and force himself into the game. He did that sometimes when Juninho was out of important matches for Lyon last season.

If there is one formation we SHOULD NOT deploy it's the straight 4-4-2.
