No no, I think you got it all wrong. The positions of the Siena players is irrelevant. Nedved had to be closer to the touchline than Trez or at least at the same height to be able to play Trezeguet onside.

I am not sure about what you said, but if you are, then that could be offside. But it is the first ever time I heard that opponents (Defenders') team position is irrelevant for an offside position, I always knew it's always about the opponents position, and the rest doesn't matter, even if the ball passed to behind or forward.
