The Bianconeri’s dominance in last night’s Derby della Mole edged them past a combative Granata side to seal a deserved victory at Juventus Stadium.
Statistically speaking, Antonio Conte’s men came out on top across the board, enjoying 60% possession and completing an overall total 615 passes, compared to the visitors’ figure of 397.
Juventus tried their luck 24 times throughout the 90 minutes, making Jean-François Gillet work on ten occasions. In contrast, Torino mustered just five attempts on goal, two of which were on target.
The biggest threat to Gillet’s goal was French midfielder Paul Pogba, who sought the back of the net on five occasions, closely followed by Mirko Vucinic on four. Two-goal hero Claudio Marchisio, along with Andrea Pirlo, had a total of three shots on goal, while defenders Andrea Barzagli and Leonardo Bonucci also tried to make their mark with two attempts apiece.
Andrea Pirlo continues to reign supreme at the top of the completed passes index, leading the way with 70. He is followed by Barzagli (62), Bonucci (61), Marchisio (43) and Lichtsteiner (39). The only Torino player to merit a mention is Angelo Ogbonna, who trails the Swiss full-back on 35 passes completed.
