The Bianconeri’s 2-1 Coppa Italia quarter-final triumph over Milan arrived after a tightly contested encounter was decided by Mirko Vucinic’s extra-time winner.
Statistically speaking, there was very little to separate the two Italian footballing giants on a pulsating night of cup football.
And despite leaving Turin empty-handed, Massimiliano Allegri’s troops can take heart from a creditable performance in the cauldron of Juventus Stadium.
The Rossoneri shaded the possession stakes (53% to 47%), had the majority of attempts at goal (16 to 12) and also registered a greater amount of shots on target (9 to 7). Conte’s men, however, remained a threat from set pieces, racking up 11 corners compared to Milan’s three.
As far as individual statistics are concerned, Giovinco represented the greatest threat to Amelia’s goal with four shots, trailed by El Shaarawy, Montolivo and Traore on three apiece.
Elsewhere, Milan came out on top in terms of completed passes, with Boateng, Montolivo and Abate proving the most accurate for the visitors.
