Juventus director Antonio Giraudo has announced that the trio of Luciano Moggi, Roberto Bettega and himself could break up in June.
“At this moment in time, we have not yet defined the future of Juventus,” stated Giraudo today.
“We have worked very well in terms of the environment and the type of approach to football we wanted. There will be a time when we’ll clear the situation and communicate it to everyone, and I believe this will be before June.”
Many have credited the ‘Triade’ of directors with the success that the Bianconeri have enjoyed over the past decade, as it is commonly accepted that theirs is the most organised club.
However, there have been rumours recently that transfer guru Moggi (pictured) is looking to move on, possibly towards arch rivals Inter, and that his colleagues would also walk out if that rapport were to be broken.
Even Coach Fabio Capello has said this season that his future is tied to that of the Triade, further fuelling claims he’s lined up for a job in England, either to replace Sven Goran Eriksson or at the helm of a Premiership club.
“Capello is world class, there is no denying his record all over Europe. He is a guarantee for the current and future Juventus side. The way he dealt with Alessandro Del Piero’s situation was also commendable, as the player showed his character and intelligence.”
The Turin giants have changed with the death of two legendary figures in the Agnelli family and could be taking a new direction next season.
“Our work began 12 years ago with Umberto and Giovanni Agnelli,” added Giraudo. “There is a company, Ifil, that owns 60 per cent of the club and right now we haven’t yet defined the future of Juventus.”
Moggi’s switch to Inter would be a particular surprise, however, as this year patron Massimo Moratti has publicly insulted Juve on more than one occasion.
“We have good relations with Moratti. Our objective is to be loved by Juventus fans, not Inter ones. We wish Moratti the best of luck.”
