Juve chose to sell Cannavaro, Cannavaro didn't sell out Juve. Meira is simply being loyal but not wanting to join Juventus, maybe he fails he can achieve more at Stuttgart if he left how would the Stuttgart fans feel? You cant just feel for the loss of Cannavaro and ignore the loss of Meira to Stuttgart.

The Old Lady was reportedly ready to offer the Swabians €15million (£10million) for the highly-rated defender, but the Bundesliga champions quickly signalled that they were not tempted to sell their skipper.

Wow, if they were ready to offer that much for Meira, they may as well meet Palermo's demands for Barzagli. At least with Barza you get a proven Serie A commodity and a player 3-4 years younger. While he's not world class, he's still a bargain compared to what Pepe and Milito went for.

Stuttgart defender Fernando Meira is not disappointed that his move to Italian giants Juventus did not happen.

The Old Lady was reportedly ready to offer the Swabians €15million (£10million) for the highly-rated defender, but the Bundesliga champions quickly signalled that they were not tempted to sell their skipper.

“I never had the intention to leave,” Meira told Stuttgarter Zeitung.

“I am happy to hear that Stuttgart does not want to sell me and therefore I am glad to stay."

The Portugal international is not the first Bundesliga player to turn down the scandal-rocked Italian club, who sealed promotion back to Serie A, this summer.

Werder Bremen midfielder Torsten Frings also shunned the chance to move to Stadio Delle Alpi in order to stay in Germany.

Juve's interest in Meira also brought a stern rebuke from Stuttgart, who threatened to report the club to Fifa regarding an alleged illegal approach.
    thats great news...

I Will Stay Right Where I Am – Meira
VFB Stuttgart defender has dismissed rumours linking him to Juventus.

Juventus’s interest in Stuttgart’s Fernando Meira almost jeopardized the relations between the Turin-based club and the Bundesliga champions, as the latter complained about Juve’s ways of handling the transfer negotiations.

Juventus were seeking the opportunity to come out with the best possible solution and net the defender. However, Meira told a German newspaper that he absolutely rules out a transfer to a different club, and this may indicate that Juve will withdraw their 15 million euros offer for the stopper.

“I have never had any intention of leaving Stuttgart,” said Meira. “I stay right where I am as I feel happy here and the club management has assured me that they won’t sell me.”

Fernando Meira began his Bundesliga experience in late 2001 when he switched Benfica with Stuttgart. He has made 145 appearances with the current German champions and has scored 8 goals.
