How many of Juve's fans on this forum live in Turin ???
All be it not all year round... But, I do! ( i knnow a couple of others as well but not regular posters anymore)
How many actually live in Italy ????
As Above plus a couple more
Most of Juve's fanbase is in southern Italy, and outside of Italy.
Not true... juves largest fanbase is in the northern region , lombardia.
Outside of (surprisingly) Milan, no city in italy has more juve fans than turin
I say, move the team to Sicily- they'll sellout every game !!!!!
I doubt it... If he team moved to sicily the stadio would sell out for a couple of months and then go much like turin but without the historical connection.
Its about 2 things:
1: The italian mentality... Over the course of a year our average is not much different than the other top clubs.. only a few thou less than milan last season... a difference that can be accounted to their far superior stadio.
The simple fact is italians in general have little intrest in lesser matches especially the coppa and cl games after qualification is assured.
I have been to coppa matches at delle alpi where there has been a handful of fans... as i have been to coppa gam,es with jus as few in milan
In italy you have to produce miracles to get real fan approval... there is enormous presure and the fans are veryu hard to please...
Especially with point 2...
2: TV - with the availability of every single game on tv... there is even less reason to get up and go to the stadium.
Italian fanms like to analyse and get technical, see things from every angle... its far easier to do this with replays etc on the tv
Turin has twice as many ppv subscribers to juve matches than anywhere else in italy.
The fans are there but there is little reason to go anymore when you can sit in comfort, in warmth with food , drink, friends, replays etc in your own home.
This attitude is growing throughout italy and also now working its way through spain...
Many spanish stadiums are now empty for lesser or non important matches.
Its no coincidence that the one league of the big three that continues with constant crowds is the one that doesnt have every game available on tv (epl)
