it's a little bit long but it worths reading it :

Gianluigi Buffon (goalkeeper) Born: 28.01.78 Nationality; Italian

Buffon became the most expensive keeper in world football when Juve paid Parma £32million for him at the start of last season and his second-half penalty save in the semi-final, second-leg against Real Madrid's Luis Figo cemented his reputation as one of the world's finest keepers.

The Italian international remains remarkably composed under pressure, benefits from lightning reflexes and is fast off his line. Was in fine form during Italy's hit-and-miss 2002 World Cup.

Alessandro Birindelli (defender) Born: 12.11.74 Nationality: Italian

Not a first-choice starter in Serie A, but he plays his part in the Champions League making several appearances and keeping a tight rein on Luis Figo in Turin until being forced off with an injury early in the second half.

Coach Marcello Lippi holds Birindelli in high regard thanks to his quick and determined full-back play. He joined the club in 1997 from Empoli, where he was involved in successive promotions from the Third Division to Serie A.

Ciro Ferrara (defender) Born: 11.02.67 Nationality: Italian

Now in his 19th Serie A season veteran defender Ferrara missed the second leg of Juve's semi-final with Real Madrid because of suspension, but will be hoping to repeat the European Cup success of he enjoyed with Juventus in 1996, when the Italians overcame Ajax in the final on penalties.

Juventus' Italian championship success this year was Ferrara's seventh, making him the most successful player currently performing in Serie A.

The former Italian national team centre-back shows no sign of losing any of his effectiveness or enthusiasm and his experience could prove vital against Milan.

Mark Iuliano (defender) Born: 12.08.73 Nationality: Italian

Iuliano is a solid, no-frills defender and is often called in to deputise for Ferrara or Montero, but he is also versatile enough to operate at left-back.

There was speculation that the Italian international was on Milan's shopping list last summer, but nothing came of it and he continues to be a dependable component of the Juve back-line.

Paolo Montero (defender) Born: 03.09.71 Nationality: Uruguayan

Tough tackling, tight-marking defender in the classic South American mould, Montero's partnership with Ferrara has been the foundation upon which Juve's success has been built.

Montero is an invaluable player for Lippi because of his experience and presence, but there is a darker side to some of his play and his disciplinary record reflects a career litter with bookings and dismissals.

Gianluca Pessotto (defender) Born: 11.08.70 Nationality: Italian

Pessotto is another invaluable member of Lippi's team thanks largely to his versatility. Capable of performing to a high standard at left or right full back, or in midfield, Pessotto is an intelligent and adaptable player.

Paradoxically Pessotto's versatility has limited his first team outings because he lacks a specialist position, but he could be handed the left-back role against Milan if Lippi starts Zambrotta in midfield.

A product of the Milan youth ranks, he then turned out for Bologna, Verona and Torino before being snapped up by Juventus in 1995.

Lilian Thuram (defender) Born: 01.01.72 Nationality: French

Despite preferring to play as a central defender Lippi has convinced Thuram to reprise with Juve the right-back role which has seen he collect World Cup and European Championship winners medals with France.

Thuram is one of Juve's most influential players and plays a key role in the team's swift counter attacks.

Bought from Parma in the summer of 2001 for a cool £24 million, his form was something of a disappointment last season but he remained a part of Lippi's plan and this season was back to his brilliant best.

Igor Tudor (defender) Born: 16.04.78 Nationality: Croat

The Croatian international is an athletic, powerful and technically-accomplished central defender equally at ease playing the defensive or holding midfield role.

Injury has disrupted his progress this season but he is highly rated by Lippi both for his physical presence and his all-round awareness.

A constant threat at set-pieces thanks to his height and heading ability, and at 25 he is approaching the peak of his career, just when Juve need it.

Mauro Camoranesi (midfielder) Born: 04.10.76 Nationality: Argentine

A surprise signing from Verona in the close-season, Camoranesi's impressive form earned him a call-up to the Italy team.

Has appeared to run out of steam towards the end of the campaign but could be the man Lippi calls on to replace the absent Pavel Nedved, who misses out on a place in the final because of suspension.

The diminutive right-sided midfielder has proved one of the big successes of the Juventus season so far, constantly catching the eye with his sublime ball-skills and elusive bursts down the flank.

Antonio Conte (midfielder) Born: 31.07.69 Nationality: Italian

A tireless worker in central midfield and strong-willed team leader, Conte has yet to truly rediscover his old influence in the centre of the park after a serious injury at Euro 2000.

Contrary to popular belief, there is more to Conte's game than mere graft and attitude. His passing is crisp and accurate and he pops up with his share of goals each season.

An Italian international, he arrived at Juve from Lecce in 1992, and could provided Lippi with options late in the game.

Edgar Davids (midfielder) Born: 13.03.73 Nationality: Dutch

Lippi once described Davids as "my one-man engine room" and the Dutchman will have to work even harder in Nedved's absence.

A rare mix of technique and tenacity, Juventus's midfield dynamo is equally capable of scoring and running back to defend.

But his fighting spirit has resulted in career all-too-often interrupted by unnecessary bookings and dismissals.

He has bounced back from a drug ban to shine at the top again and an Italian championship medal and European Cup final appearance underlines his rehabilitation.

Pavel Nedved (midfielder) Born: 30.08.72 Nationality: Czech

Although suspended for the final Nedved is worthy of a mention for his tireless, industrious and technically gifted midfielder.

Bought for £25 million from Lazio at the start of last season and he has arguably been Juve's best player this season and is rightly in the running for European player of the year. His absence from the final is a real loss to the game and Juve.

Alessio Tacchinardi (midfielder) Born: 23.07.75 Nationality: Italian

An underrated defensive midfielder who does a lot of seldom credited hardwork in the middle of the pitch.

His 25-yard strike against Swiss side Basel in the second phase of the competition helped him to win back his place in the centre of midfield, a place he secured with an assure turn against Real Madrid.

A full Italian international, he joined Juve from Atalanta in 1994 and has the ability to switch to a role in the back four if required.

Gianluca Zambrotta (midfielder) Born: 19.02.77 Nationality: Italian

Equally happy operating on either flank Zambrotta is fine crosser of the ball and is enjoying one of his best seasons, whether he is at full-back or in his preferred role wide in midfield.

Missed the first few weeks of the current campaign after badly damaging a thigh in Italy's humiliating World Cup loss to South Korea and could only watch as new signing Camoranesi excelled in his usual slot on the right-side of midfield.

But once fully-fit Lippi recalled Zambrotta and he has repaid his coach in full with some fine performances.

Alessandro Del Piero (forward) Born: 09.11.74 Nationality: Italian

Del Piero erased the frustrations of his two-month injury layoff when he coolly put the ball past Real Madrid's keeper Iker Casillas in the semi-final.

The Italian international remains one of the finest strikers in the game and has struck up a good partnership with David Trezeguet.

Del Piero's ability is such that when the time came for Juve to say farewell to Roberto Baggio in 1995 the 'Divine Ponytail' was hardly missed as Del Piero stepped into the maestro's boots with his own phenomenal ball-skills, great vision and brilliant taker of free-kicks.

Marco Di Vaio (forward) Born: 15.07.76 Nationality: Italian

Touted as one of Italy's brightest young strikers Di Vaio has struggled to find the form that convinced Juve to spend £17million to secure his services from Parma, where he bagged 20 Serie A goals last season.

He scored four Champions League goals in the first phase of this season's competition, including both in Juve's 2-0 win over Feyenoord in Turin, but has yet to add to his European tally since.

Marcelo Zalayeta (forward) Born: 05.12.78 Nationality: Uruguay

The Uruguay super-sub scored the extra-time goal that sent a 10-man Juve through to the last four at the expense of Barcelona.

Frequently causes problems in the latter stages of games but the Trezeguet-Del Piero pairing restricts his chances.

David Trezeguet (forward) Born: 15.10.77 Nationality: French

A recurring knee injury has kept 'Trezegol' out of Juventus for swathes of the season after he finished joint top scorer in Serie A last term with 24 goals.

The complete striker, he has pace, power and a good touch and is strong in the air. However, his dismal time for France at World Cup 2002 proved that even prolific marksmen needs a minimum of service
