Well isn't it the consequence of our actions coming home to roost...

Totally predictable this would happen given the dour football we've played for years now. Of course the viewership would fall, followed by sponsorship.
Also from a constant presence in CL knockout, making 2 finals in 3 years, signing Ronaldo etc. to losing to an Israeli team and not even making an EL final. I actually thought the drop would be even more.

I have my doubts of it being Amazon.

My hopes are a general tech company or something cloud computing related. Google, Microsoft, or Nvidia.

But my heart tells me something more traditional. Automobile like Chevrolet or Ford or something like Target.

Do these huge ass companies even make sponsorship deals with sports clubs? I bet it's going to be some small and not very well known company, as usual.

Inter had a deal with Paramount plus and digitalbits. I know first one is a streaming service, the other one I don't even have any idea.

Has to be a huge company. Who's paying 30m for a jersey sponsorship?

Chevrolet was just Man U's sponsor a few years ago.

I think they sponsor should have a presence in Italy, no? That rules out Target, Cigna, etc.
Ideally, yes but I could see that being one of the first stipulations Juventus letts slide.

The sponsor would probably be paying for the CL and Club WC presence at that point.

To all of you guys who are much smarter than me, how does a shirt sponsorship work - is the return on investment worth it for the sponsoring company?
For eg, did Jeep recoup $45 million a year by advertising on our shirt?

They get a percentage of each jersey sale and the companies don't have to see a complete 100% return on the investment.

Just like companies pay 10m in ads on TV or something, part of the investment as our jersey sponsor is the marketing side.

But $30-50 million is not chump change either
Right but think how much an ad for Champions League is. 8-10m range. 4-6m range for Club World Cup. And a jersey is worn everywhere.

I'd argue 12-20m of the sponsorship is regular marketing and getting your brand at 50+ sporting events with potentially millions watching.

The rest is attempted to recoup on jersey sales. Obviously, the more a company thinks they can recoup on jersey sales the more they're willing to pay. 30-50 for an 8 month period in marketing expense for a big company is nothing.
