Italian football lovers are today mourning the death of famous radio journalist Alfredo Provenzali. The popular broadcaster, who passed away this morning at the age of 78, commentated on many Juventus fixtures on the ‘Tutto il calcio minuto per minuto’ sports programme.
Giuseppe Marotta paid tribute to the broadcaster’s impact: “I’m very sad to hear about Alfredo’s passing away. He wasn’t just a great journalist as far as I’m concerned, he was also a friend. In the times when television wasn’t as prominent as it is today, Provenzali’s voice contributed to making football even more popular in our country.”
