Any highlights?

I was at Eid party so I missed this momentous era defining extravaganza.

Del Favero looked good.

Fernandes always looks in control to me.

Kastanos looked decent

Mavididi is more physical than I thought. Hes kind of like Kean actually.

No one really stood out though outside of maybe Del Favero.

just heard that Beppe was in the stands during the match. U can already say he will take care of this team, serie B promotion should be achieved sooner than later in this case.

And so it begins…Juve B Team set to launch

    AUGUST 21, 2018

After much debate, much pushing, legal challenges, threats of boycott and still no set fixtures in place or even an official squad list, finally we are on the verge of the launch of the Juve U23 side. Who kick off their campaign this Tuesday in the coppa italia at home to Cuneo.
Whilst there are many, myself included, who let excitement take hold all too easily. Dreaming of a squad boasting the cream of the crop of our budding youngsters. The reality is proving somewhat different, altogether more reasonable. For why would we place any promising youngster already proven at Serie B level or even higher, into the third tier of Italian football? I suspect the make-up of the squad will change when/if we gain promotion to Serie B, but for now the task is to launch the damn thing and aim to consolidate and create a platform for promotion. Which will certainly not be as simple as could at a glance be assumed.
Whilst there were many rumblings of other top serie A sides entering a team, it was only Juve who made the final cut.
A quick outline of the regulations regarding squad selection:
The B Teams must have 23 players, 19 of which were born after January 1 1996.
At least 16 of the players must be registered with a club affiliated with the FIGC for at least seven sporting seasons, which means limiting the number of imports.
Players can move between parent and B Team clubs, but if they have at least five appearances for the first team, they won’t be allowed back into the B Team.
Also worth noting is that there are three equally ranked Serie C divisions, grouped geographically. We find ourselves in Girone A-

And so who is to lead these fledgling juventini on their maiden voyage?

The manager of Juventus Under 23 will be Mauro Zironelli, who previously enjoyed a long career as a player representing the likes of Vicenza, Fiorentina, Pescara, and Chievo Verona. He started his coaching adventure at Venezia in 2006 for whom he also played, managing the youth team.
Zironelli has coached in Italian non-league and in Serie D, with his last role seeing him achieve promotion to Serie C with Mestre in the 17/18 season.
Also on the Juventus Under 23 bench will be Stefano Sottoriva (assistant manager), Daniele Palazzolo (athletic trainer), Samuele Callegaro (assistant athletic trainer) and Cristiano Lupatelli (goalkeeping coach).

As for the playing squad, it might look something like this>

    GK
    Mattia Del Favero (20) GK
Highly thought of and expected to develop into a top flight talent. Has played for Italy U16, U18, U19, U20. Was number one for our primavera last term.

    Timothy Nocchi (28) GK
Long term loan GK who has a wealth of experience, 117 games in the second and third tier.

    Franco Israel (18) GK

Uruguay U20 keeper, signed for 1.6m from Nacional recently.

    Alessandro Busti (18) GK

Canadian born shot-stopper who has been involved with the Canada U23 side, but yet to make his debut. Joined our youth set a few years back.

    DF:
    Raffaele Alcibiade (28) CB
Having spent most of his earlier career in the juve ranks as a lad then loan traveler, Raffaele comes back to the club with 200 appearances for youth, Serie B and C sides. He will add some much needed experience to the back line and is a former Italy U20.

    Mattias Andersson (20) CB

Mattias has represented Sweden in the youth set-up from U17-U19 and spent last season out on loan at Den Bosch, (Netherlands 2nd division) where he managed just 10 outings.

    Luca Coccolo (20) CB

Luca Coccolo, has represented Italy at U17-U19 level, with 11 senior appearances to his name at club level in Serie C. Has been with the club since childhood.

    Pietro Beruatto (19) LB

Italian U20 starlet who operates at LB or LM. Promoted from the youth side.

    Claudio Zappa (21) LB

Zappa is a long standing juve youth product. Has played close to 30 games in Serie C and represented Italy at both U16 and U17 level.

    Gabriele Morelli (21) LB

Livorne youngster signed on loan after a solid 41 game senior debut campaign in Serie C last season.

    Filippo Delli Carri (19) CB

Signed from Pescara in 2017 and featured regularly last term for our primavera squad.

    Cendrim Kameraj (19) RB

Switzerland U19 fullback who came to the club on a free in 2017 from Lucern. Of Kosovan heritage…Evidently.

    Vittorio Ghidoni (19) RB

Former Italy U16 fullback. Has some experience in Serie D.

    Giulio Parodi (20) – CB

Jolly looking fellow who seems on the same stuff as Ghidoni (above). Spent last season out on loan making his senior debut for Pordernone in Serie D where he played 34 times, picking up two goals.

    Gianmaria Zanandrea (19) CB

Regular for the Italy U19s, as he has been throughout the national ranks from U15 upwards. Has been with the club since 2013. And was out on loan in Genoa’s U19s last campaign.

    MF:

    Leandro Fernandes (18) DM/CM
The dynamic Dutch midfielder signed in January from the PSV youth team. Represents his country at U18 level and has also appeared in the famous orange jersey at U15,U16 and U17 level.

    Simone Emmanuello (24) CM

Formerly a Juve youth player before been sold to Atalanta for a tidy 1.5m in 2014. Simone has 83 appearances at Serie B level and will likely be the leader in the middle of the park.

    Matheus Pereira (20) AM/SS/LM/CM

Former Brazil U17 playmaker who came with the hopes which spring eternal when the words Brazilian and Playmaker are found together. It hasn’t yet worked out so well for Matheus who bounced around between Italy, Brazil and France before returning to the club in the Summer. What I have seen of him recently did however, look still promising.

    Idrissa Toure (20) CM/DM

Already broken into the senior game in his native Germany, the Guinea/German midfielder was signed outright recently from Werder Bremen in Germany. Has also represented Germany at U19 level.

    Simone Muratore (20) CM

Simone has been earmarked for a bright future for some time. Experience with the Italy U16-U19. He has been with the club since 2013.

    Luca Zanimacchia (20) RW

Former Italy U19 international, Luca comes on loan from Geona.

    Grigoris Kastanos (20) AM

Full Cypriot international Kastanos has long demonstrated his silky skillset in the middle for the primavera and I assumed he would be off on loan, but am glad to see him the B team. He shows echoes of Dembele, the beastly Spurs midfield all rounder.

    Roman Macek (21) CM

Czech U21 midfielder Macek returns to the club after a successful loan in Serie B last term with Cremonese, where he made 25 appearances.

    Allesandro Di Pardo (19) CM

Italy U20 international. Was signed from SPAL in January of this year for a sizeable 2m. Must be something about him for that money…

    Nicola Mosti (19) AM

Has played for Italy at U15, U16 and U18 level. Has a season under his belt at senior level in Serie C.

    FW:
    Nikolai Baden Frederiksen (18) CF

Danish U18 international Nikolai was a last minute signing from Nordsjælland. He made his senior debut last season.

    Cristian Bunino (21) CF

Towering prima punta. Has been part of the youth set-up for many moons until moving to Pescara for 1.6m in 2017. He comes in on loan and brings a wealth of experience in Serie B and C. Hardly prolific, but he knows his way around the third division and will certainly provide a physical presence up top. One of those men who looks like his name. Bunino, to me, suggests something big and round.

    Stephy Mavididi (20) CF

A very interesting acquisition from Arsenal, who is a current England U20 international and well thought of in the game. One we are clearly expecting to progress, given the 2m fee.

    Marco Olivieri (19) CF/LW/SS

Marco appeared in the primavera ranks last Summer, on loan from Empoli, and ended up top scorer with 14 from 29. He has returned to the side on loan for another year. And looks closer to 30 than 19.

    Luka Markovic (18) CF

Yet to make his senior debut in Italian football, the Serb giant appears determined and physically robust. Luka comes on loan from Crotone. Option to buy.

    Nicolo Pozzebon (21) CF

Wayfaring prima punta who was on loan at Mestre the last side managed by the new boss, last term.

    Massimo Goh (19) CF

Former Italy U16 prima punta. Had a senior campaign in Serie D last term with Virtus Verona.

(NB It seems that Israel, Ghidoni, Frederiksen, Nocchi and Macek might be heading elsewhere)

The squad above is based on my research and the first call-up and I will finish the job when the official announcement comes from the club. For now, we can fathom a fair idea of a squad comprising of seasoned (at this level and above) players, with varied connections to Juve alongside some longstanding youth prospects of serious potential.
Mavididi, Macek, Kastanos, Toure, Pereira, Del Favero, Muratore, Fernandes and Coccolo are all expected to progress to a higher level.
The experience of Alcibiade, Nocchi, Emmanuello and probably Bunino could form a loose backbone of the side. It makes sense to begin with those on the field who are experienced at this level or above, combined with our most promising youngsters making the step up from youth level.

so we will play mostly youngsters (19-21) with few experienced players (Alcibiade, Emmanuello and maybe Nocchi but im hoping del Favero is the number 1).

We beat Cuneo (not with out problems though) who is one of the worst sides in Serie C, but must keep in mind that some of these boys just joined us and dont really know each other.
Mavididi wasnt really impressive here, but as mentioned - he just joined Juve.
I like Del Favero, Zanimachia and Kastanos (but he had few blunders when he lost ball in dangerous position).
    Pereira also looked good.

Below you can see translated matche report made by Romeo Agresti:
Official winning debut for the second Juventus team, a success in the Italian Cup match of Serie C: Zanimacchia decides it.
    90 + 4 JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 FINISH THE GAME!

In a match free of big jolts, the debutant Bianconeri formation finds the first success of his life. Decides a network of the new purchase Zanimacchia, taken on the gong of the summer market from Genoa. The formation of Zironelli, with an interesting 3-4-3, has shown to want to focus on offensive and above all organized football. The margins for improvement, considering individualities, are certainly not lacking.

90 + 1 JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - Grand parade of Del Favero, with the hand of call, on a flash of the substitute Spizzichino.

    90 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 JUVENTUS AMMONIZIONE:

Zanandrea hard entry punished rightly with the yellow card.

    87 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - CUNEO REPLACEMENTS:

Reymond, Maresca and Alvaro make their entry by taking over Borello, Paolini and the former Arras.

81 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - The biancorossi look for some enlightening plot, but the bianconeri - with order and without particular problems - come to head; proposing also a discrete possession in the back package.

74 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - Nice choral action built by the bianconeri with Touré and Leandro Fernandes, Pozzebon puts the ball in the middle but does not find anyone.

    71 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - JUVENTUS SUBSTITUTIONS:

Out Mavididi and the goal scorer Zanimacchia, in Touré and Pozzebon.

71 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - Kastanos, looking for a quality game, lowers the range and looks for a trip that is not lucky.

    68 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - CUNEO REPLACEMENT:

Spizzichino takes the place of a more than positive Zamparo.

62 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - Shot from the left-handed side of Beruatto who ends up on the feet Di Pardo, who tries to take advantage of it by firing a few steps directly on Gozzi.

    59 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - CUNEO REPLACEMENT:

Case, author of an impalpable trial, is replaced by Jallow.

    57 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - JUVENTUS SUBSTITUTIONS:

Outside Muratore, Matheus Pereira and Morelli, inside Olivieri, Leandro Fernandes and Di Pardo.

55 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - Muratore is scary to Gozzi touching the post to the right of the extreme white-red defender.

48 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - Matheus Pereira builds a luxury filter, but no teammate understands the excellent play of the Brazilian handyman.

46 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - It is the usual Zamparo to create the most dangerous occasions for his team, but even in this case the attempt does not result in a profitable outcome.

46 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - THE SECOND TIME STARTS!

45 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - END THE FIRST TIME!

Bianconeri ahead thanks to a flash of Zanimacchia: a pragmatic race unlocked by an individual flash.

42 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - The first part of the race is underway, where the Bianconeri have managed to unblock the match in the name of maximum concreteness.

39 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - Paolini sends to the stars a possession that, undoubtedly, could have managed with greater tranquility.

32 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - Matheus Pereira from far distance does not worry the careful Gozzi beyond measure.

    31 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - CUNEO AMMONITION:

Yellow for Borello because of a hard intervention to stop the perky Zanimacchia.

    29 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 1-0 - GOAL OF JUVENTUS UNDER 23!

The number 10 bianconero, served by an excellent ball by Matheus Pereira, from a close position with a soft right does not forgive the extreme white-red defender, finding a historical personal joy.

26 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 0-0 - Matheus Pereira almost does not find a clumsy autorete. Fortunately for him the sphere ends up on the outside of the net.

25 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 0-0 - Zamparo, between power and speed of execution, almost the advantage: but Del Favero rejects with attention.

21 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 0-0 - Matheus Pereira tries with a powerful left-handed, vehemently rejected by the red and white defense.

20 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 0-0 - Another starting point for Mavididi, who manages to skip the opponent without becoming dangerous.

15 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 0-0 - Kastanos, entering between the lines, with the left warms the gloves of Gozzi.

13 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 0-0 - Bobb, from the dislocation of a set piece, touches the post with a powerful but not sufficiently surgical right.

10 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 0-0 - The red and white are seen for the first time by the parties of Del Favero, however, Borello arrives late with the appointment of the goal of the advantage.

7 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 0-0 - Mavididi test the solitary raid but is rejected by the wall erected by the red and white rearguard.

3 'JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 0-0 - Morelli, with a right-footed defender, does not find the mirror of the goal from a good position.

JUVENTUS UNDER 23-CUNEO 0-0 - START THE GAME!

You can see already that Alcibiade will be important, he swept up a few mistakes from others and you need that kind of experience against other experienced players, regardless of your technical level.

Del Favero has been a good keeper for a while but I'm not sure he will play most of the games, probably rotate with Nocchi. It's worth noting that this was a Lega Pro Coppa game and not a Serie C league game, so the next line up could have a few changes. I'd expect a lot of rotation, the purpose of this team is to give players experience at a professional level, rather than the focus on being to win championships. But with the technical level this team has they can aim for decent targets.

    Juventus sign France U-18 talent
    By Football Italia staff

Juventus have secured the services of 18-year-old French striker Kevin Monzialo from SM Caen.

L’Equipe confirmed a deal has been done for the forward, who only turned 18 last month.

Monzialo has already been spotted training with the Juventus Primavera youth team.

It seems as if the paperwork was filed right on transfer deadline day, but kept quiet until now, presumably because Caen were trying to lock him down to a professional contract first.

He has one cap for France at Under-18 level and plays as a wide attacker who loves to take opponents on one-on-one.

This is Monzialo’s first professional contract and runs to June 2021.
