It's more the pairing I don't understand tbh. One of Fagioli or McKennie...ok, but team them up with an actual holding mid. This is too soft, and one of them can't even pass the ball.

Also, clear pen not given and we could be at 1-1 and right back in it.

So it's just not in serie play that we don't get any breaks with VAR.

We've played okay and don't deserve to be behind. Terrible goal to lose, really poor dedending from Cambiaso and Gatti giving up on Openda.

Fagioli has been good in keeping the ball and getting us out of tight areas.

Conceicao has been underwhelming. McKennie has stopped a few moves with heavy touches or not spotting runs.

The biggest worry is Bremer's injury which looked bad. Laughable that the ref didn't ca a foul there. I've been surprised at Leipzig's play acting.

We had two forced substitutions. I doubt that Motta will change anything at half time.

Surely the more reason to make a half time switch as he can only make one allotted switch in the second half - ie 3 subs all in one go and he’ll have to wait until late to do it in case anyone else pulls up after that?

There's urgency and then there's keeping your balance, I saw it quite a few times where we struggled to control the ball, more than often it was vlahovic who is no man's land. We got some fluidity but we needs to be sharper. Leipzig have defended really well by pushing us back. I expect more from Yildiz and Cambiaso in the second half.

half time doesn't qualify as interruption as the game is stopped anyway

Hasn’t been a good half but we’ve been close to getting back into it on a few occasions already, the injuries probably thrown us off our game a bit but Leipzig are nothing special outside of their counters, think we’ll eventually score at least one too, however not before making some changes soon.

Unfortunate to give that goal up but some good quick decision passing that was absent last season. Fags okay but need more offensively that what Wes brings if want to score.
