A mess of a half.

After weathering an Empoli storm in the first 15/20mins we have had enough of the game that we should be controlling it. But instead we've been so ragged the game is like a juniors match with positioning all over the place. We look panicked.

Pretty much everyone has been poor apart from Weah who is one of the few doing his job and playing his position and Yildiz. Gonzalez has done well in flashes and poor in others, same with Kolo Muoni. I didn't realise how fast Kolo Muoni is, we should take advantage of that and play some passes behind/in the channels instead of asking him to come short so much.

Savona has been what you would expect at LB. It might be worth moving McKennie there (who has been poor) and bring in another Vlahovic. Put Kolo Muoni on the left and let him cut in.

Koop hasn't been good but he has been better in this role than AM.

Locatelli begs to differ .
If the team was a squadra he wouldn't see the pitch. Maybe if we were 2 - 0 up in the 78th minute.
Another mediocre "Capitano" , continuing the tradition.
Loca isn't even starting for the azzuri, but captains Juve. :(
He's the least of our problems today.

Empoli are shitting all over us as well.

They look really smooth going forward and mostly well organised at the back. They are also not simply parking the bus when 1-0 up

If I remember well, Max and Giorgio talked about this in one of the first matches of the season. Motta had half a year with this team and it's getting worse match after match.
Is the answer simply Conte for now? Not that he is attainable within 1.5 seasons at least. In the meantime I wouldn't have any faith in who the club chooses, but I'd rather someone used to dealing with difficult situations and pressure.

I know someone will post an Allegri emoji but this job is so big right now.

My question remains
What exactly is Motta trying to do
What's the plan here?
The plan is the same as always, pass side to side and let the wing create. The difference today is that we look completely panicked and it has turned into a scam.

The disjointed performance we are seeing is one of the symptoms of a coach who still doesn't know his strongest line-up or even what position to play players in after half a season.
