This late goal masks what we've witnessed in this half. Easily the worst one under Allegri in organizational sense. The players looked like they were gathered from the street, met each other for the first time, and told to play football against Empoli.

Three good moves have to be mentioned tho. That Vlahovic move to set up Zakaria; again Vlahovic with his pass to Pellegrini for our goal; and now Arthur-Cuads-Vlahovic. But everything else apart from this, and I mean literally everything else, was disastrous. Arthur's off the ball movement is shocking, as was the defense as a unit. But Rabiot takes the cake. It's not possible to be this weak, despite the assist.
100% correct

Something has happened to Allegri since his time off. Yes, we might not have always played sparkling football under him during his previous reign, but he had us organised, playing solid defensively and playing with grinta. What we currently see is no better or worse than what Pirlo’s team produced last season. Tbh it’s even worse in an attacking sense.

That Cuads pass to Empoli's coach was just...

Cuads expects Arthur to make a short forward run and to pass the ball to him. Arthur doesn't do that. Cuads looks for Arthur, sees that he didn't make the run, and passes the ball backwards to him. After the pass Cuads tells Arthur something and has the "why don't you make the run?" look.
Arthur immediately passes the ball back to Cuads, who now expects Arthur to finally make the run. Cuads passes the ball where Arthur should have been, but Arthur remained static and didn't make the run. The ball goes out :lol2: :lol2:

Definitely. The problem is there seems to be only or two moments like this for us every game and nothing more.
We don't have many out balls to get up the pitch. I know we are defensive and sitting deep but if we had more players able to get a long ball and keep it it'd make a huge difference. Vlahovic has done well but is often isolated and Cuadrado hasn't managed to do it enough.

I wouldn't say either goal was individual brilliance, both were well worked moves involving multiple players to create a chance in the middle of the box.
Those were well worked moves but most of the half, it's mostly Vlahovic trying to create something out of nothing.

Besides the goals prove that we can create more chances if we played a bit more aggressively.

Vlahovic is pretty much like a pseudo playmaker in this game. Way too isolated upfront.

Agreed but it's not like the goals were only individual brilliance. Definitely need to do more of it.

100%. The goals definitely show we can take the initiative and play a bit more aggressively in these matches.
