Category: General

Juventus are considering making a bid for Spanish midfield starlet Joaquin, according to reports in Italy.

The Bianconeri have been monitoring the progress of the Real Betis star for some time but have been put off by an asking price of £21m.

In fact, the 24-year-old’s has a £41m minimum release fee built into his contract, which expires in 2010, but it is thought that the Seville-based club are said to be willing to do business for around £14m following the winger’s loss of form.

The Spaniard, who was recently dropped from Luis Aragones’ national team, is highly rated by Juve Coach Fabio Capello and has also attracted the interest of a number of other clubs, including Fiorentina.

Should Joaquin - who has managed just one goal so far this season - move to Turin in the summer, Juve may propose a part-exchange deal involving Adrian Mutu, who has found first-team appearances hard to come by at the Stadio Delle Alpi.

Source: Football Italia

What kind of player is he? Welcome to Juventuz btw. :)
A fast and entertaining winger. His dribbles are from the best I've seen, but what struck me most is his drive. Perhaps that has something to do with his Gerrard-like appearance.

Sounds like a Zambrotta type of player, I like! :)

Zambrotta would have been an excellent midfield winger as well, if he hadn't been so good in the defence. :)

Don't wanna lose Mutu...! Rather have Mutu than Joaquin... Mutu has showen he can has play in Italy a couple of years and has proven he can adapt here...!

I want both of them!! I want to keep camoranesi as well! Anyway I hope Moggi can pull out this deal well. Maybe we can send Zalayeta there or we can send some of our youngster for loan or we can give Miccoli next year to them since we are not going to get Cassano and we do not need Miccoli. Anyway it will be great to see Joaquin to be wearing Juventus jersey. But I am worried about his lost of form lately. But I am sure Juve will be able to use his full potential and ability. He will be back to his best if he joins Juventus!

Hey Hey MUTU IS GREAT !!!!!!!!!! Joaquin is awesome player but we all know how great the spanish players are doin in Seria A. He is fast, with great crosses and fantastic technique, but this deal should not involve Mutu as an exchange coin.

No and he is in bad form at the moment..... But if Capello can use his magical stick on him and turn him back into the great talent he was just a year ago, we would Serie A's best right winger...

He's hardworking in attack, he'll always try to get in some open space so he can receive the ball. He's also very good in setting up an attack, he might even come a little deep to collect the ball. But he won't do much when the team has to defend.

I don't want lose Mutu. He is one of my favourites, and I can't see Jouaquin in the Italian league. Mutu has shown over a period, that he can play in Italy but I don't think Joaquin can adapt to the Italian style.

Joaquin has fantastic dribbling skills but I rather use Camoranesi on the right wing than Mutu. :)
