Juventus Interested In Gallas (30 Viewers)

Gallas’ relationship with Gunners Coach Arsene Wenger is said to have deteriorated in recent weeks and the Bianconeri are set to pounce.

Juventus director of sport Alessio Secco is already in London negotiating a deal with Chelsea to bring Frank Lampard to Turin, and will now make the short journey from West to North London to sound Arsenal out about Gallas.

Gallas is not the only Arsenal player said to be of interest to the Cadetti champions. Ivorian defender Kolo Toure and Brazilian midfielder Gilberto Silva are also admired by Coach Claudio Ranieri.

While Toure is unlikely to want to leave the Premiership leaders, Gilberto could certainly be tempted. The 31-year-old has lost his place in the starting line-up to Mathieu Flamini and is said to be considering his future at the club.

Wenger is likely to let Gilberto leave if the right offer comes in, as he already has the talented Abou Diaby and Denilson coming through in the central midfield positions.

i agree..but he hasnt yet impressed for arsenal like he has for Chelsea..though injuries could be the reason for that.

Gallas was class few years ago. I´m not sure about him now. He gets injured a lot. It would be a shame to have another possible Andrade case.

While Gallas sure isn't my favorite defender out there, I'm quite sure we could do very well in Serie A, much like Thuram.

Personally, my preferred shortlist of options that have been rumored are as follows:
1. Barzagli (right age, Serie A proven, Italy international)
2. Cannavaro (old, but Serie A proven, likely the best of the bunch)
3. Gallas (still in prime for defender, France international, versatile (though seems to get pissy) and a Ranieri favorite in Chelsea)
4. Veloso (young, versatile, already a Portugal international, could learn a lot with Andrade as a mentor, could use exposure at larger club)
5. Ivanovic (could be the best pick, could use exposure at larger club, not in what I would consider to be a competitive league, 15m is too pricey for the risk though)
6. Luisao (right age, Brazil international, good experience with Benfica, could be had for Tiago swap)
7. Lugano (right age, not really in a very competitive league, leadership experience as Captain of Uruguay, probably the cheapest of the bunch)

Felipe and Zapata would figure high on the list, but I don't see Udinese selling them.

Edit: I should add, if available, and for a non-astronomical price, Zambrotta would shoot to the top of the list as well.

gallas is not rated above zambro, canna and barzagli for me either but just in terms of the other 2 frenchmen we have -- d.gallas is a few notches above both of them
