Hey man, welcome.

Well, I personaly rate Ajax pretty highly because of their reputation for making great young players. With ajax you never know which youngster might explode in Europe, wheather it will be Sneijder or Pienaar, or VDV, or someone new...

why defence is crap?
Escude, Grygera, Trablesi... quite good I would say
Trabelsi: he's class, but won't play a match for us anymore
Escude: Hasn't been very good for us
Grygera: Same as Escudé

Maxwell is class, but he's a midfielder, only cause we have no LB he plays as a LB, but he's not very good defensively.

Heitinga is the only very good defender we have. De Jong and Maxwell aren't very good defensively, Escudé hasn't been very good either. Our defense is crap, last 3 matches we condeded 8 goals against 2nd rate Dutch teams.. says enough really. :(

True, we can beat anyone when our youngsters play at their best. But defensively we've been crap since Chivu left (even with Chivu it wasn't great, but Chivu still made it pretty stable) and offensively as I said we're a one man attack, if Zlatan leaves, we have no attack.

Ajax can play very well against teams who play open football (f.e. Man United, Barcelona), but italian teams and Bayern Munchen aren't really teams that play open football, Ajax always has trouble against that type of football, so I don't give us much chance in this group :(

Them new rules for the seeding system is ridiculous. Just because Italian teams were poor last season can't mean that none of them are in the top pot. I mean Ac Milan and Juve were finalists 2 years ago. And just because Spanish teams have performed best in past 5 seasons doesn't mean that all the sides deserve to be in top pot. I mean what have Barcelona and Depor done to deserve to be top seeds? Have they been to a final?

It guaranteed that all the italian teams were going to get a tough draw and when u look at our draw compared to the english teams u can;t help but feel us italian teams have been hard done by.

Also, I couldnt believe that Werder bremen, the champions of Germany, were in the 4th pot!!!

Me too Pado, I'm not comfortable at all about Juve going to Israel. I hope UEFA will make them play their matches in a neutral ground.

Ok men.Don't be so worried.I think it will be pretty easy for us if the players are in their days. The bayern defence is awful.Ajax has great youngsters but juventus is a more serious team. And maccabi will play in tel aviv. Not in a neutral stadium. But wgo cares for maccabi?:D

Hi, I'm a Maccabi Tel-Aviv fan.
first of all it's Maccabi Tel-Aviv, not haifa. haifa lost in a very funny match, we are tel aviv and it's kinda like the diffrence between you and milan.
secondly, we will play in Isarel. UEFA decided long ago that the matches will return to Israel and the 2 home matches maccabi played to the CL were indeed in israel, it's perfectley safe in here anf the security will be tight. I advise you and your to come but if you don't you will just get a technical loss and that will be a shame.

Other than that, no real chance of doing something, hoping to return next year a little bit more experienced and actually do something.:)

Welcome mate.

How is the situation in Tel Aviv btw, is it dangerous? If Juve plays there I just hope Mossad will be guarding them ;)

Also, this is something I've been wondering about today: if, God forbid, something were to happen to the Juve squad, like Manchester United's plane crahs for example, are the players insured for something like that? Would other clubs or the FIGC offer help?

you can ask PAOK and HJK. they came and played here and came back in one piece.
we had'nt have any bomb attack in months now. it's more dangerous in russia, with planes crashing. or spain with mega bombings than here.
Juve officels have stated that they dont have any problem with going to Israel and I commend tham for that but Bayern on the other hand refuse to go to Israel, kinda ironic seeing the last time and biggest terroist attack on athletes happend in Munich at 1972...

Yeah. But hopefully, no offence, we'll have progressed before the last match against MAccabi and wont have to send our first team there.

my hope as well...
after all, we dont want to end up empty handed and a win against Juve will be very prestigious :) (the israeli media is still obsessed with maccabi haife win over the reserve team of man united)

Exactly, its absurd. It makes no sense whatsoever that there are no top seeded Italian teams.

Well lets hope you're right and that no bombings occur before the tie, for the sake of it to follow on schedule.
