I'm reaally annoyed that some national teams' coaches are going against the decision of the medical staff at juventus!!!!
for instance the case of liliann thuram!! what a big mistake he did by returning to the france national team!!! since he returned he has been absent for almost every juventus match!!! what a pity and also what a shame for FFF!!!
Now i read that the decision of playing zlatan or not depends solely on the swedish coach and despite the fact that the medical staff at juve has stated that zlatan for sure wont be able to play against croatia and that he is a major doubt for the match in the coming week!!
What going on through their stupid minds???? they have gone mad???
It wont be a surprise now if we see trezeguet or zebina playing.....

im waiting for ur opinions guys!!!
forza juve!!!
scudetto is ours again this season!!!

well sometimes the NT's become just a pain in the ****, but what can u do ? players want to play with their country, its an honor.

trezi is out of france, but zebina may play. Zlatan's injury looked bad in the game, so i think it would just make the injury worst. Also its not an easy game for swedin.

They all have thier own vested interests, no less than Juve. In the end, you have to assume that international level physios, players and managers know better than to play an injured player.

I agree that the match against Croatia is crucial but is this enough to make the injury of a player worse?????

If players are not totally fit they should not have to play in the national team. A lot of players get back injured from the national team and we have to püay for it.

They want their own medical staffs opinion before they take the one of Juventus, seems very reasonable to me since it isn't in the interest of Juve's medical staff that the players play in the NT.
So far I seen NOTHING indicating that any NT coaches themselves are going to overul the decsion of med staff, they are just getting a second opinon from med. staff that have a vested interested in the players playing for the NT instead of med staff that have a interest that they don’t.

This is what I think at the momment, I doubt the NT's would want to risk further damaging the futures of their NT players especially with the WC comin up

It's Juve that pays the players and loans them for free to the NTs. It should be Juve that decides if the players are injuried or not. When the NTs will pay something to the clubs it'll be different.

I hate when things like thuram/swedish team happen and, to tell the truth, I'd prefer if the NTs didn't qualify for the WC, so our players wouldn't risk to get injuried during the tournament and would be more focused on Juve for the rest of the season.

Call me heartless, but it's more important that they play for Juve and I got sick of checking apprehensively if the blue guys on the floor were camoranesi or not, like I did tonight :groan:

It really annoys me that clubs have so much power over their players. The national team is the last remaining domain where clubs have far less power and I think it should be that way. If clubs are free to dictate who plays, for how long, under what conditions, the national team becomes a complete farce and loses its last shred of credibility.

For the best part of the season, Capello can say what he wants to say but when it comes to dealing with the national teams, he should keep his mouth shut.

Right. The national teams should have the possibility of checking whether the player is fit or not(unless there's an serious injury), but if they declare a player unfit he should decide if he wants to play or not.

I think the national teams rightfully have the ultimate say when it comes to these issues, but they shouldn't have too much power either... perhaps a player should have the option of choosing between his national team or club, I mean there isn't much sense in drafting in someone who doesn't really want to be there.

As for Thuram, don't panic, he'll be back soon and I'm sure he'll retire again after the WC ;)

On the other hand, its also possible that the Juve physios exaggerated his injury in the hope that he would skip a potentially tiring match for Sweden.

Juve are only doing what's best for themselves, and nobody without detailed information and experience on the matter could accurately tell which party is in the wrong here.

There is a trial going on in Belgium right now on that matter. it's RSC Charleroi vs Fifa.

They had a Marrocan player injuried for 8 months during a NT game, and ask for reparation. The G14 supports Charleroi, they were even rumours that Real Madrid could come in Belgium for a friendly against Charleroi to show their support.

This is a very interesting matter. The FIFA is making profit out of players (employees) that are paid by the clubs (another employer). This is totally illegal IMO. I'll try to make this a thread later today (check the Misc Soccer section)
