Juventus got their title defence off to a solid start by beating Parma 2-0 at a rainswept Juventus Stadium last night.
The statistics show that a slightly subdued opening 45 minutes gave way to a typical Bianconeri performance after the break, with the hosts dominating possession, taking the game to their opponents and creating several chances to trouble Mirante in the Gialloblu goal.
Despite failing to break the deadlock in the first half, Antonio Conte’s men remained patient in their quest for a goal and continued to probe for an opening, enjoying 63% possession and registering 71.9% on the hazard index.
Heavy rainfall prior to kick-off threatened to prevent Juventus from playing their customary, free-flowing football. The statistics, however, appear to suggest otherwise, with the hosts completing 73.5% of their attempted passes.
Juventus also came out on top as far as shots on goal were concerned, rifling in a total of 16 attempts compared to the visitors’ seven. Vidal and Vucinic each tried their luck on four occasions, while Giovinco had three efforts at scoring against his former employers.

We may had 16 attempts and them 7, due to the control of the game being in our favor, as our superior midfield secured possession,
BUT the shots on target were only 6/17 for us, whilst 5/7 for them.

This prooves of a serious wasting of chances, the main issue that haunts us since last year (at least) and we have yet to find a way to remedy...

PS: Pirlo looks so much like Chuck Norris there!
