Desailly was a central defender, and other 2 Boban and Albertini were mids....I don't see a connection with Ballack,Emerson and Vieira (3 mids).
Desailly was used by Capello in midfield during the early 90's, along with Boban on the right and Albertini holding centrally. Pretty simple comparison really..

I can't believe this is so hard for people to understand...Ballack would take a role further up the pitch along with Vieira, and Emerson would patrol right in front of the defense, just like he does for Juventus right now. Seems like people here don't know much about Ballack..

Sagnol to Juve row escalates Saturday 17 December, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Willy Sagnol has confirmed his excitement at an imminent move to Juventus, but Bayern Munich chief Karl Heinz Rummenigge insisted he’d block the deal.

“Juventus are a great club who have a lot of respect for their players, just as Bayern do,” Sagnol told 'La Gazette des Verts’ magazine.

“Serie A football has always intrigued me and I want to continue picking up trophies and playing alongside great stars. There are many other Frenchmen at Juve who can help me to settle in quickly. Above all, I really want to work with a world class Coach like Fabio Capello.”

The French international’s contract with Bayern is up at the end of the season and he made it clear his time in the Bundesliga is up.

“I want to know a new style of football, even if I must admit my years at Bayern were formative ones. If I had stayed, I would’ve been given the captain’s armband, but there are so many players like Michael Ballack, Claudio Pizarro and Oliver Kahn walking away in the summer. I think my era in Munich is over and I have other aspirations.”

This is the first official confirmation from Sagnol himself that the move to Juventus is sewn up, but it only further infuriated Bayern director Rummenigge, who had already described the club’s transfer strategy as “life the Mafia.”

“Director General Luciano Moggi did not act in a gentlemanly manner, but everyone knows how he works,” he told the 'Gazzetta dello Sport’.

“He spoke to Sagnol when Bayern and Juve were playing each other in the Champions League and should have informed us of these talks. Does he think we’re all idiots in Munich? It’s not over yet, as Sagnol will never join Juventus. I can say this for certain.”

Yes, Rummenigge, You are an idiot. Sagnol will join Juve.

FORZA JUVE
Bayern Merda
