Juve make Barzagli contact

Palermo have claimed that Serie B champions Juventus have renewed their interest in stopper Andrea Barzagli.

“Juventus have asked us for Barzagli, but we want to keep him because he is an important player for us,” noted Rosanero sporting director Rino Foschi.

Although Juventus seem to be on the verge of signing Jorge Andrade from Deportivo La Coruna, it seems as if they want two quality centre-backs for their top-flight return.

Barzagli has been on the club’s wish list for some time and they already had a bid rejected last summer following their Calciopoli demotion.

It now appears as if the World Cup winner is wanted again after Juventus’ bid for Real Zaragoza’s Gabriel Milito stalled over the Spanish club’s valuation.

Juve will face competition for the former Chievo man though as he’s also been linked with Inter and Fiorentina.

Other defensive possibilities for the Turin giants include Fabio Cannavaro, who they sold to Real Madrid last summer, and Inter’s Nicolas Burdisso.

The arrival of new defenders should see Juventus start assessing offers for both Jean-Alain Boumsong and Nicola Legrottaglie.

Neither stopper reportedly feature in the plans of new boss Claudio Ranieri and the club want to cash in.

The tuscan station has been really to a step from the agreement with the society of Run Galileo Ferraris, at least according to what restored from the Mail of the Sport of today.

The negotiation would be unblocked in the last hours, thanks to the "yes" of the patron rosanero zamparini.

what this loco wants doesn't matter if Barzagli wants to join us. It's no use keeping a player against his will I do think we have other options though. I personally prefer Meira or Pepe.
