Arsenal will sell captain Patrick Vieira this summer.

The Sunday Herald says Vieira could be on his way out of Highbury by the end of the week, with Juventus the favourites to sign the midfielder.

Sources close to the club say that Arsenal are ready to cash in on their 29-year-old skipper.

It is understood that the club feel that Vieira's lacklustre performance last season, coupled with his age and wages approaching £100,000 a week, have made him expendable.

On Wednesday of last week, Juventus officials flew to London to meet with Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein and Highbury manager Arsene Wenger and made a bid for Vieira valued at £12 million,

well i hope that deal goes through.. i dont particularily want vieira even though i admire him inmmensly and he is one of my fav players..i hope owen comes back to england ....arsenal have always need a player like owen.

I absolutely would like to see him with Juve, only if that doesn't mean that Emo will leave.
