This is our first visit to Italy. We will be in the north of Italy the weekend of April 8th-9th. My teenager son (15) is a Juve fan and wanted to see a calcio match. There is match at 3pm in Milan (Milan-Chievo) and at 8:30pm in Turin (Juve- Fiorentina). We have researched a lot and have found that matches at Stadi dell'alpi are not very attractive (fans are really far from the field, not big crowds). Even though he is a Juve fan and that the match with Fiorentina seems to be the most important of the date, he really wants to feel the emotion of a match in Italy. That's why we are looking for getting tickets for the Milan one. Any advice from any local calcio fan that helps us make our decission?!!

Welcome Tourist:).

If he really wants to feel the emotion, he'd better not go watch the Milan-Chievo game, not that It's a boring game or something, But looking at the other choice (Juve-Fiorentina) I wouldn't want to miss these kind of matches If I had the chance to go.

Ofcoarse the Stadium isn't 5stars like Camp Nou or Old trafford or even San Siro, and as you said It's little bit far from the players, But one thing I can assure you that Emotion, he'll surely feel it in the game;).

Juventus-Fiorentina, is always a big game to watch.

if your son is a juve fan go and watch juventus with him. Games against fiorentina are always something special. This teams are big rivals and the fans don`t like each other. The atmosphere will be great. The delle alpi is an ugly stadium but your son will forget about that if he sees his idols. Torino is also a nice city. there are a lot of new things to see that have been built for the olympic winter games. there is also a big agyptic museum (I think the biggest outside africa) and a movie museum and a lot more things to see.

You can buy tickets on www.listicket.it if they are online. I am not sure if tickets are sold on the matchday at the stadium because of the new security law.

Milan-Chievo? Bring pillows.

First of all, he's a Juve fan. Milan may pack in the stadium more, and the stadium may be clerly superior to the delle Alpi, but Chievo? You're going to take your son to see Flying Donkeys? And with a home Milan squad that already feels the Scudetto is out of reach and thus the Serie A season is just a matter of biding time between Champions League matches?

Or, in contrast, you take him to Torino. He's a big Juve fan, and Torino is a wonderful and too often overlooked city. As a juventino, going to Torino and the delle Alpi is like a religious pilgrimmage (I know this first hand). And every time he watches a Juve match at home on TV henceforth, he'll be able to reference back to the atmosphere at the delle Alpi as a juventino -- and not some milanista interloper.

Then add to that Fiorentina... one of Juve's greatest rivals of all-time. You'd get to see Luca Toni before WC 2006. You'll get to see the ultras incited to mock Fiorentina mercilessly. Afterall, remember the Coppa Italia match at the Franchi earlier in the season where tear gas was released and the game was suspended for 45 minutes? Not that it's going to happen here, but that shows you the level of spirited rivalry to expect on Juve's home turf against Fiorentina.

But do not mistake me...my comments here aren't intended to be snide or sarcastic in relation to you at all (thanks for posting!). I am just trying to add a little "juice" to the discussion in why I think it's a no brainer to pass on the Meazza and head for the delle Alpi instead. You'll be glad you did.

thank you all for your feedback. I think we will go to dell'alpi then. Another question. If we cannot buy the tickets online, I guess we will still be able to buy them the match day, right?
