Zigic admits Juve fancy

Racing Santander striker Nikola Zigic claims he is still being courted by Juventus.

Zigic moved to Spain last summer from Crvena Zvezda and signed a contract binding him to Santander until 2010.

He has scored seven goals for the club, and the towering Serbian's performances have not gone unnoticed by Juventus.

The Italian giants were keen on Zigic before he joined Santander, but were unable to accommodate another non-EU player in their squad.

But with the forward now having proved himself in La Liga, Juve are ready to launch a new transfer offensive at the end of the season.

Zigic is aware of the renewed interest from Didier Deschamps' side and he concedes he would relish the chance to head to Turin.

"Yes, I know Juve are looking for me," Zigic told Corriere dello Sport.

"Am I pleased?

"Who wouldn't like to play at Juve?"

I don't know what to think about Zigic anymore. I would have liked it if we signed him directly from Crvena Zvezda, now he's probably gonna cost more and is already a year older, not to mention he is still unproven in Europe.. Best to let him be and concentrate on keeping Bojinov.

He´s a giant and his style reminds me of Darko Kovačević.

I never liked Kovacevic much, but yeah they are quite similar, though Zigic is more technically adept. But there are much better options than him now.

We must keep Bojinov...he is young and talented and knows the team and serie A, we and DD must be patient with him.

And this guy may comes as the replacement of Trezie? We need over 20 goals not 7.

Zigic: "Premiership is a paradise"

Racing striker Nikola Zigic has commented that the Premiership is a "paradise" for a striker of his extreme height and revealed that he is aware of interest from a number of English clubs.

Giant Zigic, 26, has been linked with a 12 million-euro summer move to Tottenham Hotspur.

"I am aware that that some English teams have a continuing interest in me," As quote Zigic. "However, I have a contract with Racing."

Serbia international Zigic has scored seven Liga goals in a little-and-large partnership with Pedro Munitis while Racing have consolidated tenth position, only four points away from a European place.

He did not say which clubs were tracking him yet refused to rule out a move to England, believing the style of football to suit his unique physique.

"It is clear that the Premiership is a special paradise for a striker of my characteristics," Zigic continued, perhaps with Liverpool striker Peter Crouch in mind. "It is normal to think about my future and my career."

If he moved to Spurs then Zigic may serve as a talented replacement for Mido - rumoured to be leaving in the summer - in the Egyptian's role as foil to diminutive attackers Jermain Defoe or Robbie Keane in certain games.

He recently claimed that Serie B leaders Juventus were tracking his progress.
