yea yea yea...and that is what makes him a football genius.
He's slow,he's incosistent and he brought a club big like Salernitana into Champions leauge. He won I dunno how much Copa Libertadeores and he was a world club champion with boca. Slowness......if that's the reason not to purchase a player then all of our attack would be sold.

Beautiful thing about Riquelme is that he doesn't need to run in circles like a headless chicken to be effective. He has a, shall we say, unique playing style. And he definitely showed up for the Libertadores final, which is a "big game."

Unfortunately he is also inconsistent...like any other playmaker, really.[/QUOTE]

was just about to say that...

He never won anything in Europe... He was rejected at Barca and Villareal. He is excellent is South America but in Europe he isn't convicing... However if we could get him for cheap and if he lower his wage demand the deal could be good. And yes he is way too lazy it's like playing with 10-man squad when it comes to defense...

He choked at Villareal??
I thought he single handedly lead the team to the semi final (correct me if i'm wrong) of CL right?
So.. how come he fall under that category?

I agree, damn he was no.1 in Villareal. Man.. so totally dominant and consistent that season, when he played in trance together with Forlan!

Im sorry but anyman who leads his team to a world cup, scoring in the final and generally dominating the play isnt a choker. He has done this twice.

Its funny how he did the same thing in the CL final for a Real.

Zidane isnt a choker.

Missing the peno which would have put your club throught to the next round is more like being a choker than that.

Riq led Villareal to the semis if im not mistaken, where he missed the crucial last minute pen. Considering the system was built around him, him failing to turn up leaves a team who were reliant on him in a bit of a muddle. Thus choking in that game led to their down fall.

He choked at Barca because he doesnt work on the wing, and need to have the play built around him.

Not something barca does unless its a true great.

anyone can miss a penaty, its hardly choking... zidane is definately not a choker

again being played out of position is not choking, its called being misused.... i suppose essien is a choker because he spent the whole of this season playing at centre back?

Riq needs everybody around him to work their asses of for him cuz he won't defend at all. That's why he was a success at Vill and now at Boca and failed at Barca. Will we build a team around him, will Trez, Camo, Nedved, DP etc. let Riq be the star of the team and set aside their own goals. I seriously doubt it.
Riq. is an excellent player if he can be the center of attention. Do not compare him with Zidane, that guys was 2 or 3 times world player of the year and won everything a football player can win. The best player of the last decade.
