I'm all for this move. We will need to find a decent replacement for Emerson in a couple of years, and I think Mascherano could be the guy. He's strong and knows how to tackle, and has great technique in all aspects of the game. Either him or Beniot Pedretti after Emerson.

IMO we have one of the best central midlefiels in the world!!

Emerson no comment needed, Tacci also experienced guy, and with Blasi and Appiah we have players for the future in this position!! hell we also own half of Maresca, so IMO no need to buy a player for that position!

I just remember three months ago, everyone in here was saying that, without Ferrari or Mexes, our defense would be just a bunch of washed out oldies incapable of doin the job....
Look at Ferrari and Mexes now....

And that matters in this discussion because........?

No matter which way you look at it, we will need a good replacement for Emerson in another few years. Might as well think ahead here.

And that matters in this discussion because, your talking about Emerson replacement when we have Blasi and Appiah that are young and will evolve to cover emerson role. .. Neither Mascherano or pedretti has been proven in serie A and they will to improve much to have a chance to replace emerson... still, i like mascherano, he is a good player, but i dont think he fit emerson role....

As far as I'm concerned Mascherano is one of those guys who you'd love to have but isn't really needed. He's going to be one hell of a defensive midfielder but after Tacchinardi and Emerson we'll still have Blasi and Appiah.

yeah i agree.he's a better player than tacchinardi, appiah or blasi and no doubt if he comes we'd probably sell one of them.

he will rule the midfield with maresca in the future imo.

Never seen him play I think. Is he the good dribbler that played for argentina in the olympics? It's a familiar name. Maybe he is that great bald one in argentina u-21?

I'm still not sure if Appiah is the type of player who can take over for Emerson. Mascherano has some creativity, while Stephen has not shown any of that to me so far. Two bland midfielders in Blasi and Appaih really don't make the midfield look effective IMO.

Sure?
Yes he is, but I can't see Moggi selling someone to get him seeing as he's being tracked by a number of clubs and wouldn't be easy to acquire.

Very respectable, but just an opinion.
I really dont know if is right to be so categorical about the quality of the players...

Sure?
quite.i've seen him play quite a few times and he does more than the three of them.

he's a good all round player who's capable in attack, passes well and adds class to the midfield, something blasi badly lacks.appiah's passing is pretty bad and tacchinardi is a pure destroyer, nothing more whatsoever.

this kid is special.

Sell Appiah and get him ( or any other creative DMC and just sell Appiah)
Why do u wanna sell Appiah so desperately/early? It's not like Tacchi's working wonders
