The Bianconeri savoured their first Champions League success in three years thanks to a dominant display against Nordsjaelland at Juventus Stadium on Wednesday night.
The statistics display the hosts’ clear supremacy, converted into goals by clinical finishing from Claudio Marchisio, Arturo Vidal, Sebastian Giovinco and Fabio Quagliarella.
With 56% overall possession, Juventus surged forward at every available opportunity and recorded a total of 19 attempts on goal, 11 of which were on target.
By contrast, Nordsjaelland had a single effort midway through the second-half that was comfortably dealt with by Buffon.
The sheer pressure exerted by the Bianconeri evoked memories of October’s draw in Copenhagen, where Antonio Conte’s men only managed to breach man-of-the-match Jesper Hansen’s goal in the closing stages through Mirko Vucinic’s equaliser.
Yet this time there was little the 27-year-old shot-stopper could do to stem the tide as Juventus got their European ambitions back on track with a comfortable victory.
