why does moggi even bother with these small signings..they never come off. bugs me!
That's pretty much Moggi's style. He buys young prodigies as opposed to established stars as often as possible, but sometimes desperation leads to signing your Nedveds, Emersons and Cannavaros. Sometimes the small purchases come off (we got Del Piero for less than a million and look how brilliant he was and the likes of Chiellini, Palladino and Benjamin are showing promise) but alot of the time we never hear about these guys again.

the risk is high with this kids (remeber all those Next- DPs ) but the benefits are big (remember the actual DP )
Yeah, we hear about so many guys who are supposed to be the next Del Piero and hardly any of them actually develop into the player they were hyped up to be, but when they do the benefits are amazing. Del Piero went from being a teenager at Padova to one of the world's best players here for less than a million dollars and has repaid our belief in him as a youngster with over 100 Serie A goals and cash from sponsorship deals as well.

thats what we have been trying to do...but why dont we jus find a new talent in its own right, rather than try and replace him with an heir??
