I was in Torino this summer and I also attend a match (vs Bergamo).

So here are my two cents:

1) It really seems that Juve isn't the favourite club in the fiat-city. The first words about soccer I saw in the city were "merda juve".
At bianconeri.tripod.com I found these informations: "Despite the myth, recent figures show that more people in Turin support Juventus than Torino. The difference is that Juventus fans are often Italian and non-Italian immigrants, while the long-established Torinese tend to support Torino."

2) juventus don't really invest into the coexistence between club and city. if you don't know that there was founded a big european club you won't find any cues of juventus. strolling around in torino you propably will see the official shop at via garibaldi - not more. or you go for a very very long walk and suddenly you'll stand in front of Delle Alpi - but even there you'll ask yourself "...hm what kind of strange building. very nice but which sport/club is domiciled here?"

3) the stadium is very beautiful and unique. (if you are keen on architecture). as soccer fan I've to admit that it is the one of the worst bowl I've ever been. Even Hansa Rostock (fighting against relegation every year in Bundesliga) has got a better stadium than our beloved juve. bleachers are too leveled off. the track is redundant. the whole construction is too large. though I love that stadium very very much - but not as a spectator.

Hehe, but as an input, that is often written by Roma and Inter fans when Roma/Inter etc. played in Turin. Especially Roma fans, they are the worst at it.

So if we're the most supported club in the World and Italy.....why da fvck can't we fill up the stadium now?? We used to get 47,000 every match in 1998 and 52,000 in 1992...why can't we do it again?? I don't understand....

How is the view from the seat. Is it possible to recognise the players?

And to Elnur: I hope you are right!

is it expensive for the ticket ?? one of my friends has been there and attend to a match, he said it is quite expensive.

don't know if there is any juve's game live broadcast every week in Turin, i think it affects the attendance as well.

I just hope that the sales of the tickets won't be too big of a factor for our finance. Hopefully with the renovation, better facilities and better view of the pitch, people would start filling in the stadia.

@ A_Lacki: Could be much better. I took some pictures with 10x optical zoom and the players are still "small". Maybe I'll upload them upcoming.

@44BigBert: it costs me 25 €. quite expensive for that quality. I paid 18€ in Berlin for a very good seat. but all in all it was ok. hey I was in Torino. I'm not there very often :) - I wouldn't have a problem to pay 30. :D

While, I think sometimes fans don't want to turn up in the stadium because a live-TV coverage is warmer(you can sit by your heater in cold winter) and clearer (big screen slow motion flashback )all.

The money of one ticket could probably afford 50 bottles in bar. So, it's up to you

Yup, sometimes in a stadium u may not be able to see the players, but for the TV coverage, u can see them more clearly. The cheers in the stadium r always loud and it is very hard to get a good seat.

Sometimes I juz get a can of beer and sit in front of the TV screen and watch the match. But it is still better if u can watch the match live from the stadium.

Juz my opioion.

From my point of view...people go to the games for the atmosphere and to have fun....not to watch the game...otherwise, they would be at home watching on TV...

watch the game from TV and go to the stadium is totallt difference.
i can shout as loud as i can in the stadium, but i am silent in front of the TV, just like tonight's game against Udinese.

but 25 € for a ticket is quite expensive.

Exactly, Giurado and co. has set up the price every year with purpose, many believes they do that to defend the stadium rebuild plans (because of the low attendence they get from it). And because of this many fans are angry!, and prefer to see the match on a pub or something.
You can clearly see how the attendense has decreased for every years, while the price has increased every year.

Even though the season tickets on the less attractive seats is cheap, doesnt mean more than 20 000 wants it, since many prefer to see a match once in a while, not every or twice a week.

Its all up to the management.

PS the winter in Turin is a big factor too, the Turin winter is a ****ing hell, extremely high humidity which makes it feel insanely cold!.

i used to watch my own local football team almost every weekend when i was younger, and yes, the atmosphere more than anything made me go back every week... The stadium sucked big time, in fact, the stadium is no longer used by the team about five years ago (they have a new stadium).

There is a HUGE difference between watching a game on television and watching it live... I mean, in a stadium, shouting at players on the field is much more fulfilling than shouting at one's television set...

I feel even though Delle Alpi may have poor design or whatever, a great atmosphere in the stadium could still be achieved if the crowd is truly passionate and fun, and well, i just don't see juventinis as crazy and fun fans as is the fans of other teams... I mean, you look at the barca fans, or the romanistas, and they just go wack out crazy in and out of the stadium... For them, it's NOT just a game... In comparison, Juventus fans are sooooo... quiet, and composed, and downright too "ahhh, whatever dude"... Juventus fans don't go beat up rival fans, they don't throw stuff at refs and players, they don't even bother to make a fuss about anything..

I'm not saying that juventus fans should start beating people up or anything, but i wouldn't want to go to a stadium and feel like i'm sitting in a theatre watching a play.... I get bored if the crowd is unexciting and "sterile"...

Remember there was this crazy barca fan who always brought drums to the nou camp or spanish international matches? I'm pretty sure some people go to watch games just coz of him, and how he livens things up in a stadium... Every stadium should have one of these kinds of people, the crazy fans who brightens up the atmosphere of any game....

For me, to have a great atmosphere in a football match is not dependent on just the design of a stadium itself, but also the type of crowd present.... I look at the crowds from eastern europe teams, or south america, and they give out a great vibe every time... What i wouldn't give to see those kinds of crowds at juventus.. If there are any wacked out crowds in turin, imo, they're probably Torino fans...

All I know is that if i lived in Torino, and I had the Chance to see my Juventus, live, in person, and every week...Nothing could stop me. I saw all their US games, Barcelon in Boston, Man U in NY and Milan in Ny last summer (total of $1,500 for 3 soccer games, thats including air fair and hotel), never mind if I lived in the city which they played. These "Juve" fans need to wake up and go support their team. Imagine That, being able to see Del Piero, Trez, Zlatan, Cannavaro, Buffon, all live whenever you felt like it. DREAM COME TRUE in my book!
